Evidently he honored the terms of the parole, and evensent for his family, which explains why his daughters Annie andJosephine were born in Illinois.

It took two weeks to travel from Stephens Post Officenear Healdton, to Arapaho. They homesteaded at Gyp, fourteen mileswest of Arapaho, and built a store there. In 1907, they moved toArapaho and opened Cobb's mercantile.
