[4793] On this enumeration, she declared that she and both her parents wereborn in Tennessee.

[4794] For some unexplained reason, the census taker listed his family asbeing named POPE on this enumeration.

[4795] She was still living with son Newton Lafayette and on this enumerationwas listed as Isabel Barnett, indicating that either she was married athird time after Thomas Cole, or that the report that she was marriedto Mr. Cole was in error to begin with.

[4796] She was listed as a widow in the household of her son Newton. Fromsubsequent census enumerations, it is apparent she remained in hishome the remainder of her life.

[124] He was originally buried in the Van Slyke community cemetery, near hishome. Over the passage of many years, this cemetery was abandoned andfell into serious disrepair. About 1967, the remaining Normanchildren jointly moved his remains (and those of several other familymembers) to Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville.

Inall my years of genealogical research, this condition of this cemeteryranks among the worst I've ever seen.
