So many of my relatives came from Sangamon County, Illinois that I developed a particular affinity for the area.  I followed my addiction to the level of researching anybody who attached to my family in any way....that means I added Sangamon families right and left until over one fourth of my database was from these early settlers.  I have included about 6,000 people who from Illinois in general or from other counties.

My sources include: 1850, 1860 and 1880 census of Sangamon County, Marriage records from 1900 backwards, one booklet on births, the book: 1912 Historical Encyclopedia of Sangamon County Illinois - Volume II part 2 Biographical and the book: The History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois and finally, information passed on to me by others.  Please be aware that this is meant to be a resource for other Sangamon researchers.  I have not verified any information.
