HEROIC CONDUCT. --- On Monday the 18th ultimo, while the steamer Clansman was lying at Ullapool, an accident occured which might have been attended with fatal consequences but for the timely assistance of Captain Graham. A lady and gentleman came on board to pay a visit, and on their leaving late in the evening in a small boat, which was waiting for them, it unfortunately filled and sunk under their weight. Their cries brought the captain on deck, when he bavely jumped over the side, and having got hold of the lady, he kept her head above water until assistance was rendered. The gentleman kept himself afloat. Such conduct on the part of Captain Graham is surely entitled to the society's medal.
