COMPANY K REUNION

 

       "The 24th annual reunion of Company K Confederate veterans was held in the grove at the home of the late Joel T. Walker, July 6th, 1910, persuant to an invitation of the family, who insisted that the plans of our lamented Comrade be carried out that Company K should be entertained at his home at this reunion.

        Comrade T. N. White was elected chairman, and he called the body to order.

        After reading and approval of the minutes of the last reunion, Comrade Nelson was appointed essayist for the next reunion.  Comrade J. T. Leverett read a tribute to the memory of Comrade Joel T. Walker.

        Comrade C. W. Mathews’ home was selected as the next place of reunion, with J. T. Leverett alternate.

        On motion of J. T. Leverett it was requested that the Home Journal publish the tribute to the memory of Comrade Walker, and that a copy be sent to each member of his family.

        A splendid barbecue dinner, with a great variety of other things was served.

        Besides the members of the company, there were 35 or 40 guests, honarary members of the reunion association and relatives.

        Dinner over, there was the usual exchange of war stories.

        After extending thanks to the family of Comrade Walker for their kindness in entertaining our little band, the company disbanded and all returned to their respective homes, feeling that it was well that they attended this reunion.

        The following members of Company K answered the roll call :  T. N. White, I. B. Watson, J. T. Leverett, John Nelson.
