CRYSTAL LAKE - Dorothy Colby Feltz, 78, of Crystal Lake, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.

She was born March 18, 1922, in Crystal Lake, to Earl and Hazel (Fryer) Colby. On Oct. 26, 1947, she married Walter E. Feltz in Crystal Lake.

She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, and recently retired from Serv-All Die and Tool Co. in Crystal Lake.

She is survived by six children, Stanley (Cheryl) Feltz of Crystal Lake, Stewart Feltz of Aurora, Carol (Peter Waterman) Feltz of St. Charles, Douglas (Ming) Feltz of Plano, Texas, Richard Feltz of St. Louis, Mo., and Beverly Feltz of Monroe, Wic.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Bridget and James; and two brothers, Lester Colby of Hollywood, Fla., and Laverne Colby of Merritt Island, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on May 22, 1987; a daughter, Barbara Cass; and a brother, Paul Colby.

The visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dave Strang officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Crystal Lake.

Memorials in her name made to St. Paul United Church of Christ would be appreciated.

WHITEHALL - Dorothy C. Nelson, age 88, of Whitehall, died on Friday, January 13, 2006, in the Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall.

Dorothy was born on May 28, 1917, in Thorp, Wis., to Corliss T. and Floy E. (Wingad) Colby. Dorothy married Bennie O. Nelson on March 23, 1940.

Dorothy attended grade school to fifth grade in Thorp and then moved to Eau Claire where she finished grade school and graduated from high school in 1934. Dorothy graduated from college in Eau Claire in 1937, and taught school for 26 ½ years, mainly first grade, prior to her retirement in 1979.

Dorothy was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, its WELCA, Delta Kappa Gamma (Professional Women's Educators), Eastern Star, Tri-County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Women's Club.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Karen (Gerald) Larson of Eau Claire and Kathryn Nelson of Altoona; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Anne Nelson of Whitehall; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Colby of Pleasantville and Agnes Colby of Osseo.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; two brothers, Bernard and Grant; and a sister, Alice.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Jack Funeral Home with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery, both in Whitehall. Pastor Jon Becker will officiate.

Friends may call from noon until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.

Memorials may be designated to the BTIAW Special Olympics or Our Saviour's Lutheran Church radio broadcast."

Born in Meredith Center on June 9, 1911, she was the daughter of Leroy D. and Mildred E. (Allen) Colby.

She grew up in the Meredith area and graduated from Meredith High School, class of 1929. She was also a graduate of Hesser Business College, class of 1931. She had been a resident of Moultonboro since 1948.

She worked for many years in the 1960s in the Laconia area as a special education aide, when such programs were first becoming active.

She attended St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith. She was a past active member of the Center Harbor Congregational Church and the Center Harbor Women’s Society, the Center Harbor Women’s Club and helped operate the thrift shop in Center Harbor. She was also a member of the 50 Plus Club in Meredith, the Moultonboro Methodist Women’s Society and the Moultonboro Historical Society.

She was an avid reader and loved her gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Leonard M. Plaisted of Moultonboro; four sons and wives, Roderick Plaisted and wife Dorothy of Kissimmee, Fla., Richard Plaisted and wife Gloria of Moultonboro, Stephen Plaisted and wife Andrea of Dayton, Ohio and George A. Plaisted of Manchester; one daughter and husband, Judith Haracz and Gary of Roseville, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred and husband Charles Kern of Kissimmee, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in the Middle Neck Cemetery, Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to the Moultonboro Public Library, Moultonboro, NH 03254. The Mayhew Funeral Home in Meredith is in charge of the arrangements

Dorothy Colby O'Neil
O'NEIL Dorothy Colby O'Neil, age 91, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late James R. O'Neil of Stratford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 14, 2007 in St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull.

She was the daughter of the late Claude and Katherine Manson Colby. Born in Kittery Point, Maine, she and her husband moved to Bridgeport in 1947 before settling in Stratford for the passed 35 years.

Survivors include her beloved family, her son, Daniel C. O'Niel and his wife, Diane, of Bridgeport; her daughter Peggy O'Neill of Stratford; grandchildren, Kelly O'Neill, Shannon, Paul and Laurie O'Neil; and great-granddaughter, Kayla; sister Alice Belanger of Amesberry Maine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph's Manor with special gratitude to the 5th floor for all their love & care.

Dorothy "Dot" Muriel (Colby) Noyes, died peacefully December 28, 2004, at the Country Manor Rehab and Nursing Center in Newburyport.

Born June 13, 1913, on Parker Street in Newbury, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Rose Hilda Annette (Sunman) Colby.

Mrs. Noyes was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1931. She grew up on Meadow Crest Farm with her sisters and brothers.

In 1936, she was married to Bertram Short Noyes at the First Parish Church of Newbury by the Rev. Holton. An active member of First Parish Church, she served as assistant treasurer, was a choir member until age 90, a member of the Benevolent Society and the quilting group and was a Sunday school teacher, playing the Parker Hall reed organ. She was also a member of the Deaconate and a representative to the Newburyport Council of Churches.

Mrs. Noyes served meals at the Wheelwright House to residents younger than herself for 20 years until age 86, retiring in 1999.

In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by two sons, Samuel Colby Noyes and his wife, Paula, of Danvers and Bertram Short Noyes and his wife, Sayre, of Newbury; four grandchildren, Stephen Noyes and his wife, Tina, of Newburyport, Sherri Noyes Greelish and her husband, Jeff, of Burlington, Ky., and Daniel and Ruth Noyes, both of Newbury; four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Stephanie of Newburyport and Mickey and Rachel of Burlington, Ky.; a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Colby; a brother, Robert Colby and his wife, Lucille, all of Newbury; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Gertrude "Gert" Jackman, Carolyn "Cal" Relyea, George "Bud" Colby and William "Billy" Colby.

Funeral services were held January 1 from the First Parish Church of Newbury. Springtime interment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home of Newburyport.

Donations in her memory may be made to the First Parish Church, High Road, Newbury, MA 01951.
