PENSACOLA, Fla. - Willard P. Sanborn, 86, of Pensacola died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, followed by his wife, Ruth W. Sanborn, 85, on April 12, 2006.
They were both former residents of New Hampshire. Mr. Sanborn was also a former resident of Exeter.
Mr. Sanborn's survivors include three sons, Stephen, Nathan and wife, Linda, and Roger and wife, Mary; three grandchildren; Mark, Chelsea, and Jennifer; and a sister, Elizabeth Engalls, of Maine.
Mrs. Sanborn's survivors include a daughter, Heidi and her fiancé, Andy Weatherford; a son, Chip Joslin and wife, Darlene; grandchildren Ashley, Brittany, Rachael, Justin and Lynne; and great-grandchildren Tyla, Jeremiah, Katelin, Adrianna and Marcos.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in their names to Covenant Hospice, 5907 Berryhill Road, Milton, FL 32570.
WE REMEMBER: Upon completion of high school and college, Mr. Sanborn enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served in the Second World War from 1940 to 1945 as a first class gunner?s mate. Upon his return, he worked at Merrimac Farmers Exchange, then driving trucks for hauling companies in the Exeter area. His last place of employment was with the U.S. post office in Exeter. Upon retirement he moved to Pensacola, Fla. with Mrs. Sanborn in 1987. Mrs. Sanborn graduated high school in 1938 from Medford, Mass. and attended nursing school. She was a stay-at-home mother for many years, worked briefly in sales, and directed HUD low-income housing in Newmarket. They enjoyed 27 years of marriage.
