Mrs. Leland Rumsey

Mrs. Leland C. Rumsey, 74, 150 10th St. N., died at 3:05 a.m. today at Riverview Hospital of a lingering illness. She had been a patient at the local hospital since March 9 and previously was hospitalized at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Methodist Church, the Rev. Lloyd Foster officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Rumsey, the former Leatha White, was born in Omro, Wis., March 7, 1890, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James White. She had been a resident of this community for 51 years, coming here from Buffalo, N.Y.

She was married twice, the first marriage to Ray H. Colby on June 29, 1910. He died Sept. 15, 1937. On Oct. 26, 1941 she was married to Leland C. Rumsey, who preceded her in death Dec. 5, 1954.

Surviving are a son, Donald M. Colby, Stevens Point; a daughter, Mrs. E. B. Fast, Marinette; a sister, Mrs. Clara Swenson, Stevens Point; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rumsey was a member of Rainbow Chapter 37, Order of Eastern Star; Mount Olive White Shrine; the Women's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church, and was treasurer of the Women's Benefit Association.

Friends may call at Baker Chapel from 2 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday and at the church from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Memorials may be designated for the First Methodist Church.

Easter Star and White Shrine services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Baker Chapel.
