Daniel Webster Clay Rector and Laura Huffaker
Daniel Webster Clay Rector was the son of Jesse Rector (2) and Nancy Brammer. He was born on 4 Nov 1858 at Rector's Flat, Wayne County, Kentucky. He married Laura Huffaker on 22 Feb 1876. Daniel was a preacher. He and his wife gave the land to the community to build the local school (possibly the Murl School House?) and the Rector's Flat Baptist Church in Wayne County, Kentucky. The church was built in 1905, and the school was probably built first. D.W.C. Rector died on 28 Jan 1916. Daniel Webster Clay Rector and Laura Huffaker Rector are both buried at Rector's Flat, Kentucky.
Laura Huffaker was the daughter of Henry Clay Huffaker (1832-1917) and Margaret Ann Shearer (1838 1924). Laura was born 23 Jan 1860, and she was only 16 years old when they were married. She died 22 Mar 1922.

County. His parents were Rev. James Daniel Selvidge (1876-1959) and
Usley Souders (1876-1944). Leva and Will had at least 7 children:

Joseph W. Barnes (1837-1914) and Chloe M. Smith (1843-1923)
Nancy Anna Rector and Artie Barnes are the parents of Clarissa "Clara" Rector Barnes Smart,

a. Ernest Arthur Barnes, b. 22 Jan 1902 at Albany, Clinton Co.,
KY; died 12 Oct 1990 at Lake Placid, Highlands Co., Florida. He was
first a dentist, and later a doctor. He first married Edna Folkland
(1904-1962), next married Rose Agnes Langhorne Condon (1910-1943),
last married Kathryn Brown (1915-2005). Ernest had one child with
Edna Folkland (he is still living), and 3 children with Rose Condon:
Ernest Edward Barnes (1932-2005); Charles Arthur Barnes (1933-1970);
Anna Sue Barnes (1935-2004). He may have had more children.

1926. John Abe Smart was born 7 April 1894 to John Randall Smart (b.
1862) and Sarah Lane Spencer (b. 1864). John died June 1987 at
Charlottesville, Virginia. They did not have children. Clara (Barnes

4. Harriet Abbie Rector, born 30 Sep 1882, died 7 Mar 1966, married
Dock Columbus Stephens (b. abt 1875 in Kentucky; d. abt 1955).
They had at least the following children:
a. Flora Doris Stephens, b. 28 Nov 1908; married Alpha Lee "Jack"
Upton in 1928, but they divorced in April 1965 in Manatee, Florida.
Flora and Jack had at least 4 children: Mary Upton (1929-1988); Jack
Upton (1930-2008); and two daughters who are still living. In 1965
he married Charles Wolford Frost (1895-1985)

20 Jan 1942 at Norvell, Jackson Co., Michigan. She married 3 times:
in 1900 she married John Lewis Denney, b. 22 Feb 1882; d. 22 Oct 1911; he was the son of
William Henry Denney (1848-1938) and Sarah M. Hicks (1850-1935). In Aug 1929 she m.
August Hagan (1880-1963), they later divorced. In Dec 1938 she m. Andrew Mellott. She
had at least the following children with John Lewis Denney:
a. Roxie Denney, b. 2 Jun 1901; d. 18 Aug 1960; m. Clyde Leslie
Southerland (1892-1952, the son of Andrew Southerland (1850-1917)

two children, a son (living) and a daughter Connie Sue Denney

f. Martie Bard Denney, b. 1 Sep 1910 in KY; d. 8 Apr 1989 at
Lehigh Acres, Lee Co., Florida. Martie first married Farris J.
Wright (1913-2000) in 1931. They divorced in 1945. He next married a
woman named Dimple Dessie VanPherson (1905-1996). He had at least
one son with Farris Wright: William Warren Denny (1934-1995), as
well as a daughter who is still livng. Martie and Dimple are buried
at the Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana.
6.Jesse Henry Rector (Jesse 3), born 24 Apr 1886 at Wayne Co., KY,
died 10 May 1977 in Tennessee. He married twice:
1st to Alta Ollie Sharp (sister of Erma Sharp, who married Jesse's nephew,
Everett Newell Rector) and they had four children:
a. Anna Lee Rector, b. 18 May 1919; d. 14 Mar 2007 at Elverta,
Sacramento Co., CA, first married Gilbert Catledge, second (1958)
