  • Notes.
    Wm. Thompson was born in 1766. In his 19th year he became a scholar of TCD. After ordination he was curate first, the Reader and Catechist, at the Cathedral of Cork. In 1800 he was made Archdeacon and in 1829 he was appointed coadjutor to the Bishop of Cork.
    His first wife was Eleanora (1782-1803) the eldest dau. of Charles Fergusson, by whom he had Edward who became Rector of Myross and Charles who was baptized at St. Peter's, Cork on 20 Mar. 1802. He m. secondly Mary Chetwood by whom he had 6 sons and 4 daus. He died 19 June 1833.
