  INCENDIARY FIRES AT DUNLEADY, AND HOLYWOOD On Thursday evening, between five and six o'clock, the haystack of Mr James FERGUSON, of Dunleady, was discovered to be on fire. Information having reached Dundonald, the police stationed there hastened to the spot, succeeded in putting out the fire. On the same evening, a stack, the property of Miss SIMMS, who resides about a mile out of Holywood, was fired, but the flames, in a short time were got under.

  • 25 Jan 1828: Married - On the 14th instant, in Waringstown Church, Mr. HAMILTON FERGUSON of Banbridge, to SARAH, only daughter of Mr. Joseph Brown, the Clare, near Waringstown.
  • 29 Jan 1828: We have been authorised to contradict the account of the marriage of Mr. Hamilton Ferguson of Banbridge to Miss Brown, which appeared in the News Letter of Tuesday. It was forwarded to us in a letter, and accompanied by what we supposed to be a genuine signature. If we can discover the author of this fabrication he shall hear from us. Belfast News-Letter. We copied the alleged marriage from our Belfast contemporary.
