circa 1727 - George Gernon being sworn and examined in behalf of Mr. Bolton, said, he knew john Ferguson, who voted at said election for Mr. Smyth; that he knew not when he came to live at Swords, but knows that he, the said Ferguson, and his wife have lived these twelve years past in the Town of Ratoath. He further said, that Ferguson hath been Sexton in Ratoath for these three years last past, and constantly attends the Church.
