  • In May 1831 the Irish Constabulary fired indiscriminately on the crowd attending Castlepollard fair, resulting in 13 deaths. Court Ferguson was one of the constabulary charged with murder, but all 19 were found 'not guilty'.
  • On Dec 2 1844, John Ferguson was admitted to Castlepollard Fever Hospital, and was later discharged cured.
