Webster-Smith Papers — Genealogy Charts & Notes

The Webster-Smith papers were compiled and written by Fred S. Webster, Sr, of Austin, TX, mostly during the 1930s. His son, Fred S. Webster, Jr, provided nearly 600 pages of the original papers to CNS, who scanned, transcribed and indexed them in 2009–2011. These represent about one-tenth of his genealogical research, the part that pertains mostly to the Smith lineage of his wife, Eula M. Smith (Webster). The bulk of his work pertained more to the Webster lineage, and was retained by Mr Webster, Jr. Webster did not provide sources for much of the data on these images. Some Notes and Charts indicate their provenance (usually by a notation in the upper left corner), but many do not. Therefore, the data presented herein should be considered as leads or hints for further investigation, rather than definitive proof of any relationship.

These images are posted at about half their scanned resolution, and individual images at full resolution (about 3400x2500 pixels for letter-sized pages) may be requested from CNS. Be sure to indicate the filename (or at least the file number -- the first 3 digits of the filename) of the image(s) you want. Most images are under 500KB each.
Each image is labeled with a surname, usually that of a central or prominent family on the chart or in the notes. Letters are labeled according to writer or recipient. The images are divided into 20 groups — the groups of thumbnails listed below. A searchable index to every name in the entire Webster-Smith collection is posted at NAMES_INDEX.html, which matches every name to the image on which it appears.
