2. Joseph² SUTTON (George¹) was born in Scituate, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts circa 1637. Joseph died January 17, 1695/6 in Perquimans County, North Carolina at 58 years of age.⁽³⁾

He married Deliverance NICKOLSON circa 1680 in Perquimans County, North Carolina.⁽⁴⁾ Deliverance was born circa 1640. Deliverance was the daughter of Christopher NICKOLSON and Hannah (--------).

Joseph Sutton's will, dated 20 January 1694/5 and probated April 1696, name sons Joseph, Christopher, George, and Nathaniel; and wife and executrix Deliverance.

Joseph SUTTON and Deliverance NICKOLSON had the following children:

+ 10 i. Joseph³ SUTTON was born circa 1681.

+ 11 ii. Hannah SUTTON was born circa 1683.

12 iii. Christopher SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina April 3, 1685.⁽⁵⁾ Christopher died November 27, 1711 in Perquimans County, North Carolina at 26 years of age.⁽⁶⁾

13 iv. George SUTTON was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina August 7, 1687.⁽⁷⁾

+ 14 v. Nathaniel SUTTON was born circa 1689.
