Robert the son of Martin J. and Mary Ann Casey of Guttenberg NJ enlisted in the US Navy on July 26, 1966 in Brooklyn NY. He underwent Field Medical School at Camp LeJeune NC and then was stationed at the US Naval Hospital in St Albans NY. He arrived in Vietnam on December 15, 1967 and was assigned for duty with H&S Company attached to Company G, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

On operation Allen Brook, Company G and encountered a NVA Battalion in the fortified village complex of Phu Dong. The Marines encountered heavy enemy fire, varying from individual small arms, to B-40 RPG, heavy machine-gun and mortar fire. The attacking force began taking heavy casualty's from an entrenched enemy who stood its ground in protective bunkers often fighting the Marines at close quarters. Marine mortar fire and artillery support could not break the NVA defenses throughout most of the day, until finally the sweltering heat and an accumulation of fifty fixed wing air strikes forced the NVA out of their bunkers and trenches, afraid of encirclement by the evening the NVA broke contact and withdrew leaving some of their dead behind. Marine losses were heavy with units reporting twenty five dead and over forty wounded; among them was HM3 Casey who had been killed by an enemy gunshot. HM3 Casey was presented the Navy Cross posthumously "For extraordinary heroism on 16 May 1968"

Billy the son of Luerathia Sims of Santa Monica CA enlisted in the US Marine Corps on September 15 1967 in Fort Worth TX. He arrived in Vietnam on February 27, 1968 and was assigned to Company H, 2d Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF. A squad in an ambush position east of An Thuy Tu hamlet in Hoa Vang District detected suspicious movement to the southwest, and requested 81 mm mortar support on the location of the activity. After the rounds impacted, a second barrage was requested but six of the rounds fell short wounding Marines men and causing the death of PFC Greene from multiple fragmentation wounds from the friendly mortar fire. George the son of Carl C. and Garnet Z.E. Myrick, enlisted in the US Navy on April 19, 1966. He attended Field Medical School in Camp Pendleton CA and then was assigned to the US Naval Hospital in San Diego. With orders for duty in Vietnam HN Myrick was assigned to H&S Company and attached to Company D, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF as a Field Corpsman when he arrived. During Operation Worth, after a frontal attack against enemy forces on Hill 502 that raged most of the day, contact was broken by the enemy. Casualties were gathered and brought to an LZ for medical evacuation.

A CH-46 D from HMM-265 arrived for the medical evacuation, upon lift off the helicopter came under intense enemy ground fire and as it circled away from the LZ it was hit in the rear pylon by a B-40 RPG rocket causing it to crash and burn in a valley below. The entire crew and six wounded survived, nine other wounded men died including HN Myrick who had been wounded in his left leg while treating Marines during the battle and was also being medically evacuated. HN Myrick was presented the Navy Achievement Medal with combat "V" "For outstanding achievement in superior performance of his duties 13 January 1968" and presented the Bronze Star Medal posthumously "For heroic achievement on 6 February 1968 while serving as a Corpsman" (Source: posted OBIT at findagrave.com
