Anne Arundel Yates Line

Gyneth Yates Riley was a very busy person experienced in sorting out wills and estates in her profession life and a genealogist by avocation. She is a direct descendant of the George Yates line notable from the Anne Arundel County, Maryland area.

She prepared the following narrative in correspondence in 1957; her line is:

Gyneth Yates was born about 1920 and married an Unknown/Unproven Riley. Her parents were Robert Woodford Yates was born on 13 Oct 1862 in IL. He died on 9 Aug 1942 in Los Angeles Co.; CA. Robert married May S. Smith. May S. Smith was born about 1869 in IA. Robert's parents were James Clay Yates born on 5 Feb 1834 in IL. He died in 1892 in Sheridan CO., KS. James married Mary Eliza Thomas on 5 Jun 1856. Mary Eliza Thomas was born on 29 Jan 1839 in Adams Co., IL. She died on 23 Jun 1892 in Sheridan CO., KS. James Clay Yates was the son of George Woodford Yates Jr. born on 15 Feb 1804 in Culpeper Co., VA He died on 26 Apr 1883 in Nemaha Co., KS. George married Mary Pendleton Waggoner on 28 Mar 1830 in Barren Co., KY. Mary Pendleton Waggoner was born on 7 Apr 1810 in Barren Co., KY. She died on 16 Jun 1883 in Nemaha Co., KS.
