William arrived in the United States in 1860, age 18. He worked on a farm in New York for 6 months, then came to Vermilion County. He had been involved in coal in Ireland, and began a coal operation in Vermilion County that grew from William working alone to as many as 30 employees. In 1873, he purchased a 400 acre farm, and added a house in 1888. He raised cattle, horses, and hogs.

Kelsheimer, Benjamin D. Bio 861, 862. b. 1833. s/o John Kelsheimer and Harriet (Edwards) Kelsheimer. h/o Mary J. (Lewis) Kelsheimer. f/o Edward Kelsheimer; Frank Kelsheimer; Ivan Kelsheimer. Benjamin was active in church work from 1850, age 17. He had a remarkable memory for dates. He attended school in the winter, textbooks being a speller and a Testament, then worked for his brother William until maturity. He farmed successfully on rented land. In 1857 he arrived in Edgar County with a team of horses, and $865. He purchased 62 acres and operated it for 7 years. He turned to livestock and rented the "Houston Farm," of 160 acres for 2 years. John attended a typical primitive school until he was 19, then he took a 3-month course at Marshall. In 1879, he built a home on his 300 acres in Elbridge Township in Edgar County, making his own bricks for the structure.

Joseph came to America in 1854, age 20, with no money. His first residence was Philadelphia, followed by Ohio, then in 1864 he worked at a sawmill in Paris, Illinois. After 18 months, he leased 60 acres. Five years later he bought that land, eventually owning 167 acres. He had success with Short-horn cattle.
