Henry Edgar Sheets (Benjamin Franklin5, Moses4, Michael3, Michael2, John1) was born August 5, 1871 in Van Buren County, Iowa, near Mount Sterling, and died August 29, 1944 in Mount Sterling, Van Buren County, Iowa. He married Rosabel Watkins September 23, 1903 in Willits Station, Van Buren County, Iowa, at the home of  her parents, John Watkins and Ann Evans. She was born August 8, 1881 near Mount Sterling, Van Buren County, Iowa, and died April 24, 1957 in Hospital, Keosauqua, Van Buren County, Iowa. Henry was tall and thin and nearly always wore a mustache as an adult.

When he was a young man, Henry and his brother, Charley, were lumberjacks. Henry was known as "Biscuit" because he always cooked breakfast for the other loggers.

After his days as a lumber jack came to an end, Henry made his living as a farmer, painter and wallpaper hanger.

The family moved to Clark County, Missouri about 1916 (barely south of the state line dividing Iowa and Missouri). Henry joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church in 1926. The children rode a horse named Jessie to school.

Henry suffered a stroke in 1940 and was a semi-invalid until his death. Henry and Rose are buried at Center Chapel Church in Van Buren County, Iowa.

Children of Henry Sheets and Rosabel Watkins are:

i. Leonard Leon Sheets, born August 29, 1904 in near Mount Sterling, Van Buren County, Iowa; died October 15, 1975 in Van Buren County, Iowa. Leonard never married. He farmed and worked in the coal and trucking business. He was also a member of the Mount Sterling town council. He lived with his mother in Mount Sterling, and remained in the four-room house after her death.

ii. Hazel Mae Sheets, born October 4, 1910 in Van Buren County, Iowa; died July 25, 1996 in Fort Madison, Lee County, Iowa.
iii. Edgar Franklin Sheets, born October 17, 1914 in Van Buren County, Iowa; died October 10, 1959 in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa. He married Helen Overhulser March 5, 1940, daughter of Claude Overhulser and Carrie Kirner. She was born October 8, 1920 in Granger, Missouri, and died January 7, 2001 in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois.
