He resided Amboy,, NJ. He was the first of the Reid family in Monmouth County, came from Scotland 16680-86 and died before 1714. He resided in 1711 Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ.

• 11 ii. Anne Reid and Samuel Barclay obtained a marriage license Apr 9, 1750. She resided on Apr 9, 1750 Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ.

Children of James⁵Reid and Moyka Longstreet were as follows:

• 15 i. John I.⁶ Reid; born Oct 2, 1754; married Margaret Taylor, daughter of Joseph Taylor and Ann (Unknown), circa 1775; died May 12, 1843 at age 88. A soldier of the Revolution, serving 1776 in Colonel Forman's battallion of Heards's Brigade; and as Sergeant (1777) in Captain Kenneth Hankinson's company. He took part in the Battle of Monmouth in 1776. He resided "Homestead", near Englishtown, Monmouth County, NJ; on the "Homestead", near Englishton, now (1932) owned by Miss Hariet R. Reid.
• 16 ii. Aaron Reid; married Rebecca Clayton; born circa 1756; born Jan 27, 1756; died Oct 6, 1839 at age 83.

• 17 i. Samuel⁶ Reid; born Jan 5, 1764; died May 4, 1833 at age 69.
• 18 ii. Anna Reid; married Samuel Combs; born Oct 23, 1765.
• 19 iii. Joseph Reid; born Jul 15, 1768; married Margaret Laird Feb 4, 1788; died Sep 21, 1826 at age 58.
• 20 iv. William Reid; born Jan 14, 1771.
