Henry Dye was born on 9-Aug-1764. He was the son of David Dye and Hannah Disbrow. Henry married Rachel Albertse Schenck, daughter of Albert Gerretse Schenck and Angenetje Van Brunt, on 23-Jun-1788 at Penn's Neck, Mercer County, New Jersey. Henry married Rebecca Hughes on 23-Dec-1815. Henry Dye died on 7-Jul-1845 at age 80. Henry was buried at Schenck Covenhoven Graveyard, Penn's Neck, Mercer County, New Jersey.
     He was also known as Henry Dey.

      David Dye Jr. was born in 1774. He was the son of David Dye and Hannah Disbrow. David married Mary Schenck, daughter of Martin Schenck and Catrina Schenck, on 30-Mar-1794. David married Mary Ann (Unknown). David married Mary (Unknown). David married Anna (Unknown). David Dye Jr. died on 1-Apr-1851 at Columbia County, Pennsylvania.

      Captain Peter Perrine was born on 5-Jan-1737 at Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey. He and Sarah Scanlon obtained a marriage license on 7-Jul-1760. Captain married Hannah Disbrow, daughter of Henry Disbrow and Catherine Hendrickson, on 2-Apr-1800. Captain Peter Perrine died in 1817 at Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey.
     He Captain in Revoluntionary War, he commanded a Company in the 3rd Battalion, Middlesex County, Militia.

      Alice Alma Baker was born on 3-Mar-1891 at Van Zandt County, Texas. Alice married Robert Lee May, son of John Daniel May and Leona Crownover, on 12-Jul-1908 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas. Alice Alma Baker died on 7-Sep-1965 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 74. Alice was buried on 9-Sep-1965 at Lone Wolf Cemetery, Scurry County, Texas.

Ba- ker of El Paso and 22 grand- children. Burial will be in Lone Wolf Cemetery, directed by Kiker and Son.       Douglas Lee May was born. Douglas married Johanna Beth Christian.

      Christine Renee' Davis was born. Christine married Michael Steven Taylor, son of Delton Steve Taylor and Andrea Sue Glover.

      John Daniel May was born on 28-Sep-1834 at Hollow Square, Greene County, Alabama. He was the son of Stephen D. May and Jane G. Meader. John married Leona Crownover, daughter of John Chesney Crownover and Nancy Castleman, on 1-Oct-1854 at LaGrange, Fayette County, Texas. John Daniel May died on 16-May-1922 at Moody, McLennan County, Texas, at age 87. John was buried at Moffat Cemetery, Moody, McLennan County, Texas.
      John D. May, a successful farmer of Bell County, was born in Alabama, September 28, 1834, a son of Stephen D. May, a native of South Carlina. The later moved to Alabama when a young man, and later to Texas, where he purchased a large farm, and became an enterprising land and slave owner. He died in November, 1885, and his widow still survives, aged seventy-five years. Mr. and Mrs. May had seven children, viz; five of whom grow to years of maturity: John D., our subject; Steven T., who died in the Confederate service; Francis E., deceased, was the wife of J. M. Wallace; Mary J., wife of John W. Norris, a farmer of Bell county; and Harriet M., wife of T. M. Coon, also a farmer of this county.

John D. May, the subject of this notice, came with his parents to Texas in 1850, at the age of fifteen years, settling in Fayette county. Four years later they came to Bell county, where Mr. May has ever since been engaged in agricultural pursuits. On account of disability he was exempt from military service during the late war. In 1859 he settled on the land he now owns, of which he has made three farms. He as 435 acres of good land in the home place, and also controls 44 acres of other lands belonging to his grand-children. He has about 115 acres of his home farm under cultivation, and raises principally cotton and corn.

Mr. May was married in 1854, to Miss Leona Crownover, who was born January 25, 1836, a daughter of John Crownover, a pioneer settler of this State. The parents died when Leona was a child,and she was reared by John Rabb, an old and well-known citizen of this State. Mr. and Mrs. May have had ten children, seven of who grew to years of maturity: William R., who died April 8, 1884; Mary F., wife of J. E. McClain, a farmer of McLennan county; John W., a farmer of Bell county; Rufany J., wife of J.D. Henderson, a farmer of Bell County; Emma E., wife of W.R. Newman, a stock-raiser of New Mexico; Steven T., a farmer of Bell county; Laura R., wife of H.C. Nelson a resident of Bell county; Annie L., wife of W. T. Newman, a farmer of this county; and Robert L., at home. The mother of our subject is a member of a large and influential family in this state, her ancestors having participated in the Texas Revolution, had many fights with the Indians, and underwent all the hardships of Pioneer life. Mr May is a Democrat in his political views.

Leona married John Daniel May, son of Stephen D. May and Jane G. Meader, on 1-Oct-1854 at LaGrange, Fayette County, Texas. Leona Crownover died on 8-May-1906 at Moody, McLennan County, Texas, at age 70. Leona was buried at Moffat Cemetery, Moody, McLennan County, Texas.

      Noma Leona 'Polly' May was born. She was the daughter of Robert Lee May and Alice Alma Baker. Noma married Edwin Sthal.

      Pauline May was born. She was the daughter of Robert Lee May and Alice Alma Baker. Pauline married William Connie Darden.

      Ld 'Pete' May was born. He was the son of Robert Lee May and Alice Alma Baker. Ld married Lillian Gale. Ld married Joyce (Unknown).

      Finis Lowell 'Buck' May was born on 16-Oct-1917 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas. He was the son of Robert Lee May and Alice Alma Baker. Finis married Jean Langford. Finis Lowell 'Buck' May died in 1978 at Abilene, Taylor County, Texas.

      Hattie Elizabeth Turner was born on 27-Jan-1876 at Georgia. Hattie married Robert Lee May, son of John Daniel May and Leona Crownover, on 24-Dec-1895 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas. Hattie Elizabeth Turner died on 25-Nov-1907 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas, at age 31.

      John D. May was born in 1896 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas. He was the son of Robert Lee May and Hattie Elizabeth Turner. John D. May died in 1899 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas.

      Vera Reona May was born on 2-May-1897 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas. She was the daughter of Robert Lee May and Hattie Elizabeth Turner. Vera Reona May died on 17-Sep-1915 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas, at age 18. Vera was buried at Roscoe Cemetery, Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas.

      Gladys Leona May was born on 7-Mar-1901 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas. She was the daughter of Robert Lee May and Hattie Elizabeth Turner. Gladys married Pat Myers between 1915 and 1948. Gladys Leona May died before 1992 at Colorado City, Mitchell County, Texas.

      Barbara Willa 'Bob' May was born on 21-Jul-1903 at Big Springs, Texas. She was the daughter of Robert Lee May and Hattie Elizabeth Turner. Barbara married Ross Derryberry between 1916 and 1944. Barbara Willa 'Bob' May died in 1977 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas. Barbara was buried at Lone Wolf Cemetery, Scurry County, Texas.

      Lela Retta May was born on 22-Jun-1905 at Loraine, Mitchell County, Texas. She was the daughter of Robert Lee May and Hattie Elizabeth Turner. Lela married Carl Clardy. Lela Retta May died before 3-Nov-1992.

      Turner May was born on 19-Nov-1907 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas. He was the son of Robert Lee May and Hattie Elizabeth Turner. Turner May died on 3-Nov-1992 at Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas, at age 84. Turner was buried at Roscoe Cemetery, Roscoe, Nolan County, Texas.

      John Chesney Crownover was born on 11-Mar-1799 at Union County, South Carolina. He was the son of John Crawford Crownover and Mary Elizabeth Chesney. John Chesney Crownover married Nancy Castleman, daughter of Sylvanus Castleman and Elizabeth Lucas, on 29-Apr-1824 at Austin, Travis County, Texas,

      Nancy Castleman was born circa 1804 at Davidson County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Sylvanus Castleman and Elizabeth Lucas. Nancy Castleman married John Chesney Crownover, son of John Crawford Crownover and Mary Elizabeth Chesney, on 29-Apr-1824 at Austin, Travis County, Texas,

      Chesney Crownover was born on 25-Aug-1827 at Little Rock, Pulaski County, Texas. He was born on 25-Aug-1827 at Austin, Travis County, Texas. He was the son of John Chesney Crownover and Nancy Castleman. Chesney married Elizabeth (Unknown). Chesney married Mary Isophene Stewart, daughter of Faris Crawford Stewart and Sarah Jane Riley, on 20-Feb-1884 at Llano, Llano County, Texas. Chesney Crownover died on 8-Jul-1889 at Llano County, Texas, at age 61.

      William Riley May was born on 21-Aug-1855 at Texas. He was born on 21-Aug-1856 at Bell County, Texas. He was the son of John Daniel May and Leona Crownover. William married C.E. Lelia Carson in 1876. William Riley May died on 8-Apr-1884 at Texas at age 27.
