      Cornelis Kip was born circa Dec-1699 at Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. He was baptized on 1-Jan-1699/0 at Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. He was the son of Nicasius Kip and Antie Breyant. Cornelis married Eva Berdan, daughter of Jan Berdan Jr. and Eva Van Siclen, on 17-Sep-1720 at Dutch Reformed Church, Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey.
     Cornelis Kip was also known as Cornelius Kip.
Cornelis Kip purchased purchased in partnership with his brother-in-law George Du Ramos a 600 acre tract at Lower Preakness for £270 on 4-Dec-1723 at Lower Preakness, Bergen County, New Jersey.
He resided at at Preakness, Bergen County, New Jersey, after 4-Dec-1723; Preakness is a few miles west of Patterson. The house was the family home from 1723 to 1867. On 1-May-1754 a release was given by Lewis Morris Ashfied, son and heir of Richard Ashfied to Cornelius Kipp and two sons of George Du Ramos, in consideration of payment of £40, as to an overplus of land in and abover original deed, since it was found according to large allowance customary in those days that the tract indicated contained 829 acres instead of "600 acres or therabouts."
