I, Daniel Yant, of the County of Washington Farmer, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at any time heretofore made; And first I direct that my body be decently interred in the burying ground of the Baptist Church in Carroll Township in the county aforesaid, according to the rites and ceremonies o the said church and that my funeral be conducted in a manner corresponding with my estate and situation in life; And so much of my worldly estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with, I dispose of the same as follows: First I direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as possible, out of the first money that shall come into the hands of my executor from any portion of my estate real or personal. And I direct that my wife Sarah Yant have all the household goods and property we have at my decease to hold them as long as she continues my widow. And also I direct one called Dor horse or one equivalent to it in value and the same to be kept and taken care of on the farm as the other stock on the farm are kept. And I direct my wife to have the use of one half of the Dwelling House we now occupy for her own exclusive use as long as she remains my widow or chooses to occupy it. And further I direct that my son James Harvey Yant shall have all my estate real personal or mixed excepting my Household goods (which I have already directed to my wife) and that there shall be no appraisement nor sale of any of my estate, further than what my executor shall deem necessary to carry out this my last will and testament. And further I direct that my son James H. Yant shall pay to my Daughter Martha Stroud the sum of one Thousand Dollars, That is Two Hundred Dollars per year for five years dating from the day of my death, to be paid to my Daughter in good faith without interest. And further I direct that should my wife not be living at my decease then I direct my household goods and horse or the proceeds of the same be equally [shared] between my son James H. and Martha in an amicable way And if they should disagree about the dividing of the, then to choose two impartial neighbors to do the same. And I do hereby make and ordain my son James Harvey Yant my Executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I Daniel Yant the testator have to this my will written on one sheet of paper Set my hand and seal the [blank] day of [blank] A.D. 1861. And at and before the sealing of this my last will and testament I direct that my wife be kept on the farm or from the proceeds of it as long as she lives or as long as she remains my widow.
