She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Conover, who departed this life July 26, 1992, and is survived by one son, H. Bruce Conover of Newville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and three sisters, June Kaspar of FL, Mary Bream of Arendtsville, and Doris Gross of Carlisle.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles P. Conover, who departed this life in 1985.

Irvin S. Conover, of Gettysburg, departed this life January 9 in Hershey.

He was the son of the late Norman B. and Clara L. (Appler) Conover.

Mr. Conover served in the Army during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer.

Mr. Conover was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Two Taverns of Gettysburg; Littlestown American Legion; Littlestown V.F.W. ; Littlestown Fish & Game and Gettysburg Young Farmers.

He was married to Rhoda "Boots" (Crouse) Conover for 58 years and surviving, in addition to her, are two sons, Bobby L. Conover of Gettysburg and Benjy L. Conover of Littlestown; two daughters, Carol R. Graf of Hanover and Janice K. Stoner of Harrisburg; one sister, Sarah Bucher of Bendersville; one brother, Guy L. "Gig" Conover of Littlestown; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Kravetz and two brothers, Alvin and Willis Conover.

Full military honors were conducted by Littlestown Allied Veteran Council.

Mary Natalie Conover, 85, of 848 Fairview Ave., Gettysburg, died Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.
Born Nov. 7, 1920 in McSherrystown, she was the daughter of the late Leo T. and Lorena Hombach Noel. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Willis M. Conover, who died in 1992 and by three sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Conover was employed by the Gettysburg National Bank which later became CCNB for 25 years prior to her retirement as vice president for customer relations in 1982. She was a former member of Women of the Moose and the Gettysburg Business and Professional Women Club.
She is survived by one son, Willis M. Conover Jr. of Clarks Summit and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by by three sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Ronald McKinney officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 1 pm until the time of the service.

     He served as a Private 1st Pennsylvania Regiment 30 Pennsylvania Volunteers.





ISAAC N. DURBORAW, farmer, P. 0. Two Taverns, was born October 81, 1838. on his grandfather's homestead in this county. His great-great-grandfather, John Durboraw, a farmer by occupation, had three sons: Thomas (who begat John, Isaac and Absalom), John (who begat, Thomas, John, Isaac, David and James), and Isaac. The last named farmed on land in this county, which is the site of Middletown; he, Isaac, married Martha Holmes, a descendant of an old family, and to this union were born the following named. children: Thomas, John and Isaac. Of these Isaac came to Mountjoy Township, this county, and bought a farm of John McCune!), in 1804; ho married Rebecca Beard. who died on our subject's farm. To Isaac and Rebecca (Beard) Durboraw were born William, Isaac H., John, Thomas and Samuel. Their son Samuel was born June 8, 1800, on an adjoining farm; was educated in the subscription schools, though was mainly self-edu­cated; ho studied surveying, taught school in early life, and filled different township offices, serving.as school director for twenty-five years, justice of the peace thirty years, and as member of the State Legislature from 1858, being reelected to the office in 1839. When the war of the Rebellion broke out he took an active interest in the cause of the Union, and was identified with the Republican party (formerly was a Whig). He was in the revenue service of Adams County during the war, and before the battle of Gettysburg; was taken prisoner by the rebels at Hanover, but managed to effect his escape while they were trying to open the depot safe. He hid in the wheat fields till night, when the dew was on the grain, and caught cold, from the effects of which he died the following year, March 18, 18C 1. In his passing away Adams County lost one of her most useful and respected citizens. Ile was upright and honest, and known, far and wide, for his many- good qualities of head and heart. Hon. Samuel Durboraw was thrice married, the first time to Miss Anna Brinkerhoff, who died, leaving one daughter, Mrs. M. R. Cress, who is yet living in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Ills second wife, Mary J. Horner, was a daughter of Alexander Homer, one of the pioneers; sho died here January 17, 1849, aged thirty-seven. years, the mother of three children now living: Mrs. Sarah J. Cesium, Isaac N. and Mrs. Maria B. Hartman. his third wife, Mary R. Coshun, who is yet living, is the mother of die Rev. Charles T. Durboraw, now of kansas. Isaac N. Durboraw was educated in the common schools, and for a short time studied under private tutor Converse, at Gettysburg. has been a farmer all his life, with the exception of tile time he devoted to hie country. lie enlisted June 8, 1861, in Company IC, First Pennsylvania Reserves (he wanted to enlist when the first gun was fired, but his father did not think he could spare him); he was elected corporal, and promoted to second sergeant, and participated in all the engagements in which his regiment took pert, except during a short time he was sick, and was wounded. at Charles City Cross Roads June 80, 1802. Our subject was married in the fall of 1804 to Miss Margaret B., daughter of Peter Conover. The children born to this union now living are Mary J., Willie G.. Addison H., Isaac N., Jr., Robert H. and Charles H. (twins), Martha E. and Margaret E. Mr. and Mrs. Durboraw are members of the Reformed Church. Politically he has been a life-long Republican, casting his first vote for Abraham Lincoln. He has been elected five times justice of the peace in a Democratic town­ship, and, besides, has served as school director two terms.
