She was born in Pleasantville, and was a lifelong resident of Atlantic County. She worked for NJ Bell Telephone Company prior to her retirement. Mrs. Heniss was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Zion Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Home Auxiliary, Deborah Hospital Foundation, and the AARP.
Widow of the late Charles (Sparky) Heniss, daughter of the late Raymond (Ike) and Rosella (Conover) Nelson. Predeceased by sisters, Belva Dolquiest, Mildred Adams, and Mamie Helder, brothers, Maurice (Whiff) Nelson, Raymond Nelson, and Claude Nelson.
She is survived by: nieces, Edythe Nelson, and Shirley Helder, nephews: Maurice Nelson, Charles Helder, and Claude Nelson (Donna), and sister-in-law Edythe Nelson Aldridge.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 1, 2004 at the Egg Harbor City Cemetery, relatives and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Atwood Peterson O'Brien Funeral Home, 1114 White Horse Pike, Egg Harbor City for a Procession to the Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Donations in her memory may be made to: Zion Lutheran Church, 312 Philadelphia Ave., Egg Harbor City, NJ 08215.
