Joseph Borden (175885) was born on May 12, 1687 Middletown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He married Susannah Grover (175892), daughter of Joseph Grover (221698) and Hannah Lawrence (221699), in 1712. General James Cox (306464) was born on October 16, 1753 Cox's Corner, Monmouth County, New Jersey. He died on September 12, 1810 Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey, at age 56. James Cox fought at Germantown and Monmouth and gained the rank of Brigadier General after the Revolutionary War . He was a member of the New Jersey State Assembly , its speaker, and was elected representative in the 10th US Congress dieing before taking office.

He held the position of President of the State of Delaware in 1777. He held the position of Chief Justice of Pennsylvania between 1777 and 1799. He held the position of Governor of Pennsylvania between 1799 and 1808.

A lawyer, Hopkinson signed the Declaration of Independence, was a member of the Constitutional Convention, and held various posts in the new U.S. government. He wrote several brilliant satires attacking the British, such as The Battle of the Kegs (verse, 1778).
