'The Trumansburg Free Press',July 9, 1986: TRUMANSBURG - Florence Murray, 85, a resident of Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca, for the past six years, died July 3, 1986 at the Tompkins Community Hospital. Mrs. Murray was a rural school teacher at District 13 andSwamp College Schools. While residing at Lakeside she helped organize and played in the Lakeside Kitchen Band. She is survived by three sons, Kenneth, Robert and Donald Murray, all of Trumansburg, and a daughter Kathleen Stevens of Trumansburg; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Willis of Enfield Center and Mrs. Bernice Tucker of Newfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Monday at Jacksonville Methodist Church with the Rev. Dale Winter officiating. Burial was in Grove Cemetery, Trumansburg. There were no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Trumansburg Fire Department Ambulance Fund. The Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, was in charge of arrangements.'

Conover of 16 Washington St., Trumansburg, passed away at the Cayuga Medical Center on Sunday, August 15, 1999 at the age of 71. Born April 5, 1928 in Trumansburg, Ernie was a son of Clifford and Laura Whittaker Conover. Following his graduation from Trumansburg High School Ernie accepted a position at the Ford Garage in Trumansburg. From 1955 to 1957, he faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army. In 1957 he again accepted a position with the Trumansburg Ford Garage and continued to work there, as the Service Manager, until 1975. With his vast knowledge in automobile repair, Ernie qualified for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic postion with the Tompkins County Highway Department. He worked for the county from 1975 until his retirement in 1992 ... In addition to his parents, Ernie was preceeded in death by his brother, Roland C. Conover, in 1981. Surviving are his devoted wife of 50 years, Ella Louise Slaght Conover of Trumansburg; a brother, LaVerne (Pat) Conover of Romulus; a brother-in-law, Stephen (Mary) Slaght of Ithaca; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane (Robert) Harding of Trumansburg; and several nieces and nephews. '
