Early Settlers of Western Iowa

Cornelius Dunham

Contributed by Carrie Peterson, great-great-great granddaughter of Cornelius Dunham; granddaughter of Donald Ralph Dunham.

Thank you Carrie.

Margretta Scott Dunham

Married Cornelius Dunham, on October 5, 1839, in Fulton, Illinois.

Both had been married before, but lost their respective spouses to cholera.

Or as Carrie puts it: "They travelled the wagon train together (with the Mormons). Both their mates died of cholera, so they decided to hook up."
