What's New

What's New

Starting January 2000, I've put this  symbol on anything brand new.

August 1, 2001  NBCi/Xoom, the former home of The Coppenbarger Genealogy page, decided to close its doors on web hosting, so I was forced to find a new home.  The move to Rootsweb did give me the opportunity for some much needed updating.  Quite a bit of coding also had to be redone during the move, and I hope I didn't miss anything.  If you do find a broken link, or a missing page, please let me know!  Don't forget to update your bookmarks to the Rootsweb site.

June 24, 2001  The Grist Mill page has been revamped and a new photo of the stones has been added.  Also, there is a new question about the town of Kenney, Illinois.

February 4, 2001  The links on the Blackhawk War page have been updated and there are several new additions.

October 28, 2000  Beverly Griner McNally joined the list of researchers for the Griner line.  Welcome Bev!

October 8, 2000  Now you can search the site from the home page.  Also, I added some new information to the biography of Jacob Coppenbarger.

August 26, 2000  I added a few new links including one to the Dewitt County Census for the years 1850 and 1860.  Also, there's a new question about the origin of the Snavely name and possibly a coat of arms.

May 7, 2000  Doug Coppenbarger solved the mystery of Coppenbarger School located in Decatur, Illinois.

March 18, 2000  Joined the German-American Web ring.

February 20, 2000 If you like what you see on this page, you can find out how I did it.  Here are some tips and tricks I learned and how you can "Build your Own Site."

February 18, 2000  I'm delighted to have received the "Excellence Award" from "Carmichael Family OnLine".

February 9, 2000  Now that I've figured out tables, I cleaned up the navigation on the welcome page.  What do you think?  I was going for an easier to read, faster to load page.  Sign the guestbook and give me your opinion!

February 9, 2000  Upon finding my photo of the millstones from John Coppenbarger's grist mill, the first in DeWitt County, I added a page on the mill.  Also, I added a link from the welcome page to a brief biography of George Coppenbarger, and to Hays Cemetery.

February 6, 2000  I added a page on the Sangamon Ordnance Plant of World War II, including a certificate from Marion Coppenbarger.

February 6, 2000  I cleaned up the navigation a bit by adding the link table at the bottom of most major pages.

February 1, 2000:  Yikes!  My home computer suffered a major crash.  While the website is okay, I have lost all of my email addresses.  If you've corresponded with me in the past, please write me and let me know your current address so I can rebuild the address book.

December 1999:  Taming the Timber Award created for webpages featuring Midwestern Pioneers.  The page is also a member of several webrings for awards, so if you don't qualify for this one, try one of the webrings.
