The earliest known descendent of the MOORE family is William Moore, whose son Robert Moore married Ann Reid on 24th September 1824 in the Presbyterian Church, Dromara, County Down Ireland.

Robert and Ann had at least 3 children, namely

Jane Burgess Moore, born 3rd March 1826,Townland of Burren, christened 7th march 1826, Dromara Presbyterian Church.

Henry Moore, born 21 August 1828,Townland of Finnis, christened 7th September 1828,Dromara, Presbyterian Church

William Moore born 12th September 1830,Townland of Finnis, christened 19th October 1830, Dromara Presbyterian Church.

In 1852, Henry married Mary Ann McClurg at Alfred Place Church,Belfast . Mary Ann, born C 1832 in Ireland, was the daughter of Ruthven McClurg and Ann Murphy. Until I obtained the copy of Mary Ann and Henry's marriage certificate, there was always a query as to whether Mary Ann's surname was McClurg or McLeod.. The certificate definitely proves it was McClurg. After their son William was born in Ireland, they moved across to Scotland, where they settled and raised their family in Coatbridge,Old Monkland Lanarkshire..
