At St. Clement (in Vicarage yard).

ISNIOC VITALI FILI TORRICI in debased Latin capitals.

Some consider the word 'Isnioc,' (which is in much smaller letters) as well as the cross at the head of the stone, to be later than the rest of the inscription.* The stone was rescued from service as a gate post. Messrs. Langdon and Allen (ut supra) read Ignioc.

The Cubert Stone, (built into west wall of church tower).

CONETOCI FILI TEgERNO mALI (Debased latin capitals but g and m miniscule; some consider these miniscules Saxon in character).** Tegerno and mali are probably one word though in separate lines on the stone. The lines run longitudinally.

Tregony (in Cuby churchyard). (Debased latin Capitals).

NONNITA ERCILINI RIGATI TRIS FILI ERCILINCI

(The 'A' in Nonnita is upside down - the 'A' in Rigati has no cross bar). Others read ERCILAI and ERCIL HCI. 2 Jrnl. R.I.C. 47 and 58.

Carnsew, Hayle. (Debased Latin capitals).

IC CEN REQUIEVIT CU NAT DO HIC TUMULO IACIT VIXIT ANNOS XXXIII, which has been conjectured to mean, 'Here Cenuus rests - who was born in 500 - he lies in this tomb - he lived 33 years'. But this is very much like mere guessing.*** The inscription is now illegible. Langdon and Allen read HIC [IN PA]CEM REQVIEVIT (line obliterated) CVNAIDE HIC [IN] TVMVLO LACIT VIXIT

ANNOS XXXIII.

In Phillack Churchyard.
