Originally from Schleswig, this family allegedly begins with a Hans Scriver, who was the father of Gabriel Scriver. He, in turn, had issue Friederich Scriver, born 16 December 1604. His son Gabriel Scriver, born 21 September 1630 at Rendsborg, died 24 April 1696, married 19 September 1653 Elisabeth Hennings (born 7 May 1638 at Rendsborg, died 7 March 1676) and had issue Gabriel Schrieber, born 17 August 1661 at Rendsborg. This Gabriel died 4 January 1722 at Schleswig, married 10 November 1691 Anna Christina Axen (born 21 May 1672 at Schleswig, died 10 June 1749) and had issue:

1. Peter Gabriel Schreiber, born 1692, died 4 August 1693.
2. Anna Christina, born 12 July 1694, died 2 April 1718, married 10 November 1716 at Johan Martin Gössel til Stubbe (born 27 May 1687, died 15 September 1762).
3. Lucie Magdalene, born 4 July 1695, died 1732, married Johan Gabriel Schrieber. Their relationship is unknown.
4. Amalie Augusta, born 11 October 1697, died 1731, married Georg Gottlieb Richter.
5. Ide Cathorina, born 29 November 1699, died 28 January 1731, married Andreas Gabriel Andersen.
6. Friedrich Adolph Schreiber, born 18 January 1700, died 13 September 1700.
7. Jacob Wilhelm Schreiber, born 28 September 1701, died 4 December 1714.
8. Christian August Schreiber, born 23 April 1704, died 11 December 1752.
9. Hedevig Sophie, born 6 December 1705, died 1728.
10. Gabriel Schreiber von Cronstern, born 10 June 1709 in Schleswig, ennobled 28 February 1760 as Schreiber von Cronstern, died 29 October 1763, married Easter 1739 Marie Elisabeth Jügert (born 4 November 1723, died 3 April 1771, buried 15 April 1771 at Schleswig cathedral.
10.1. Gabriel Friedrich Schreiber von Cronstern til Nehmten, born 3 February 1740, christened February 1740 at Schleswig cathedral, died 7 Jan 1807 at Nehmten, married 3 April 1783 Charlotte Friederike Henriette von Leliwa (born 28 June 1747 at Hönscheit, Waldeck, died 31 January 1823 at Nehmten.
10.1.1. Gabriel Friedrich August Schreiber von Cronstern til Nehmten, Marutendorf and Hohenschulen, born 30 December 1783 at Nehmten, died 20 January 1869, the last of the line, married Charlotte Louise Christine von Varendorff (born 7 September 1802, died 8 May 1885 at Kiel, Germany).
10.1.1.1. Henriette Sophie Charlotte Elisabeth til Nehmten, Marutendorf and Hohenschulen, born 20 January 1826, died 12 April 1874, married 26 November 1844 baron Carl Theodor August Scheel Plessen, of the house of Selsö (born 18 March 1811, died 7 July 1892).
10.1.2. Ludvig Friedrich Schreiber von Cronstern til Marutendorf, born 25 December 1785 at Nehmten, died 5 January 1823 at Kiel, Germany.
10.2. Christine Auguste Friederike, born 19 February 1747, died 6 November 1824, buried 14 November 1824 at Schleswig cathedral, married 1stly Adolph Friederich von Warnstedt (born 1723, died 1783); married 2ndly 1784 major-general Janur Friederich Irminger (died 17 April 1811, buried 25 April 1811 at Schleswig cathedral).
11. Carl Friedrich Schreiber von Cronstern, born 26 January 1711, ennobled 7 March 1760 as Schreiber von Cronstern, died 8 March 1795, buried 16 March 1795 at Schleswig cathedral, married 1739 Friderike Amalie Niemann (died February 1743).
11.1. Gabriel Christian Schreiber von Cronstern, born 19 October 1740, christened 1 November 1740 at Schleswig cathedral, died 4 April 1767.
11.2. Christine Marie Friderike, born 20 December 1741, christened 7 January 1742 at Schleswig cathedral, died 30 June 1791, married colonel Jacob Alexander Destinou (born 1734, died 1 February 1790).
11.3. Carl Friedrich Schreiber von Cronstern, born 31 December 1742, christened 1 January 1743 at Schleswig cathedral, died 16 May 1773.
