BEACOM - Reverend Canon Thomas Ernest Beacom Born Aughnacloy, Co. Tyrone, N. Ireland April 18, 1912 Church of Ireland Clergyman for 72 years 21st April, 2008 at 96 years old; he passed away peacefully in Long Term Care at the Drayton Valley Hospital located in Alberta, Canada. Beloved husband of Hazel, dearly loved father of David (Sandra), Ross (Mike), Nigel (Isobel) and grandchildren Kiera, Barry, Jack, and Marc. Also survived by one sister and brother. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. A Service of Thanksgiving for his Life will be held in All Saint's Parish Church, Drayton Valley on Tuesday, April 29th at eleven o'clock in the morning, followed by burial in Riverview Cemetery. BRADLEY Gerald Francis (Jerry) 1938 - 2003 Jerry Bradley, beloved husband and friend of Joanne Bradley and father of his precious daughter Tracy Bradley, both of Calgary, passed away suddenly at home on March 1, 2003 of a massive heart attack. Besides his loving wife and daughter, he is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, two brothers-in-law and many wonderful friends. After Jerry's parents and sisters emigrated from Ireland, they homesteaded in Clandonald, Alberta where Jerry was born on April 7, 1938. Jerry was predeceased by his mother (Margaret), father (Frank) and his four older sisters (Mary, Elizabeth, Rose and Sarah), all of County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. At a young age, Jerry and his family moved to Edmonton, Alberta. Jerry worked for Canada Safeway for thirty-seven years where he met many of his closest friends. He was transferred to Calgary in 1990 as import/export coordinator for Canada. Throughout his career he traveled extensively throughout the world and was well-liked and respected by everyone he met. He was also known for his kindness, wit and humour. Jerry retired from his long, successful career in 1996. He was now able to enjoy more time golfing with his buddies. Jerry and Joanne moved into their new home in Elbow Valley in March 2002 where he enjoyed his newfound friends and neighbours. Jerry was an avid golfer, played hockey, enjoyed football and many other sports. While in Edmonton, Jerry and his daughter Tracy enjoyed being season ticket holders and spent many nights together cheering on the Oilers. He also loved gardening and was the envy of all his neighbours for his beautifully manicured yard. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church (5504 - 20 Street S.W.) on Friday, March 7, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception at the church. CAMPBELL Sister Mary Bernadette On July 20th, 2012, at the Monastery of the Precious Blood in Hamilton, Sister Mary Bernadette Campbell entered Eternal Life in the peace of the Lord and in the hope of Resurrection. Supported by our devoted chaplain, Father Robert Dunn, her Sisters in Community and our Infirmary Nursing Staff, Sister left this world in the 92nd year of her life and the 74th of her Religious Profession. Sister Bernadette is survived by three sisters whose husbands are deceased; Peggy (Boyce) Smythe of Campbell River, BC, Cecila (Ted) Dombroski of Edmonton, AB and Frances (Joseph) Oberhoffner of White, BC. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret (Nesson) and Peter Campbell, and her brothers and sisters, Brigid (Joe) Devlin, Josephine (Johnie) Kirkpatrick, Joseph, Harry (Edith), Peter (Marion), Gerald (Dusty) and an adopted brother, Joseph. Sister is also survived by many nieces and nephews and an ever increasing retinue of new family members, all loved by her and very devoted to her. A loving niece, Jane Catherine Marsh of Edmonton was like another sister to Bernadette and a nephew, Philip (Heather) Campbell of Ottawa, were her closest and ever faithful relatives in Ontario. Born in Stewartstown, Co. Tyrone, in Northern Island. Bernadette was eight years old when her family immigrated to Canada in June,1927. At that time there were seven children (Sister Bernadette was 3rd in the family) including Cecilia, a six-month old baby. They set sail for Quebec, Canada on the "Montcalm" and from there travelled by train to their destination in St. Paul, AB, more specifically St. Bride's. Sister Bernadette began her religious life with the Sisters of the Precious Blood in Edmonton, AB in March, 1936. She served in many Precious Blood Monasteries across Western Canada as well as in Pembroke, ON and Portland, Oregon. As a gifted seamstress, Sister made Church Vestments and Linens as well as Habits for the Sisters over many years. She was artistic, competent and generous in the many tasks to which she was assigned. Sister Bernadette never lost her Irish wit nor the accent from the land of her birth. She could come up with an appropriate story, no matter what the occasion, and she loved music and singing. Sister Bernadette was very aware that her earthly journey was ending and kept asking that we tell her family and her religious Sisters that she loved them. Visitation will be held at the Precious Blood Monastery, 154 Northcliffe Ave, Dundas on Monday, July 23rd from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. A prayer Vigil for Sister will be held at the monastery at 7:30 pm, Mon, July 23rd. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Precious Blood Monastery on Tuesday, July 24th at 11:00 am. COYLE Patrick Joseph 1920 - 2004 It is with sadness that the family of Patrick Joseph Coyle announces his passing at the Foothills Medical Centre on Friday, December 31, 2004 at the age of 84 years. Born on the family farm at Cranagh, Co. Tyrone, Ireland on March 19, 1920. Pat spent many years at the Oil Sands Projects in Ft. McMurray before retiring to Red Deer to help his long-standing friends Vince Clarke and family with their business. Pat finally retired to Calgary to be closer to his sister Anne's family where he was a much beloved uncle. Pat was predeceased by his parents Paddy and Alice Kate in Ireland; brothers, James in Lancashire, John, Peter, and Bill in Australia, Brendan in Chicago, and Charles in Ireland. Pat's surviving family, Kathleen, Mary, Gerry, Anne, and Brian, and their families all share fondest memories of a kind and generous brother and uncle who cared deeply for his family and friends, and who’s leaving brings a terrible sadness to all our hearts. DUFFY Elizabeth (Elsie) Born October 2, 1918 in Caledon, Co Tyrone, Ireland. On Aug 5, 2011 Elizabeth (Elsie) Duffy of Edmonton, at the age of 92, passed away peacefully in the presence of her son Steve Duffy and granddaughter Jody Duffy. She loved her family wholeheartedly and was a warm hearted, sincere woman whose generous nature was shared with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick, son Wayne, brother John and sister Edie. Her memory will be cherished, especially by her immediate family: son Steve Duffy (Gail), grandchildren Jody Duffy (Nick), Sean Duffy, Cameron Duffy and Jennifer Duffy, sisters Phyllis and Emily and brothers Henry (Kay), Jim (Helen) and Richard, great -grandchildren Karina Duffy Vizzuso, Nicolas Wayne Duffy and also by numerous other family members and friends. McCULLAGH Myles Vincent -Myles Vincent, age 87, died peacefully at the Edmonton General on November 21, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Ann (Young), Myles was born in Greencastle, Co Tyrone, Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1957. He is survived by his sisters Philomena Rush, Bernadette Caruso, and Dee Jennings, all of Philadelphia, as well as by 22 nieces and nephews. Myles was predeceased by 4 sisters and 5 brothers. McKANE Doreen E. August 15, 1922 - March 13, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen McKane on Friday, March 13, 2009. Born in Moygashel, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, she married Harry McKane on March 12, 1947. Upon immigrating to Canada in 1948, Doreen resided in Winnipeg, MB for fifty years before relocating to Calgary to be closer to her family. An avid bowler, Doreen was also an accomplished knitter, loved animals and loved to bake. Predeceased by her husband Harry in 1986, Doreen is survived by her daughters, Hazel (Tony) Williams of Delta, BC, and Margaret (Gary Cook) McKane of Calgary; as well as grandchildren, Rob Williams of Waterloo, ON and Sarah Williams and Allison Cook, both of Calgary. She is also survived by her brother George (Peggy) Belshaw of Northern Ireland; sister Sarah Murray of Brandon, MB; and many nieces and nephews. MULGREW Terence Terry is survived by his wife of 52 years Brigid, daughters Bernadette (Eugene) and Susan (Mike), sons Pat (Roxanne), Dean (Dawn) and Darren (Caron), seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and sisters Pat (Steve) and Eileen (Andy). He is predeceased by parents Patrick and Ellen, brothers John, Jim, Tom, Frank and sister Rose.
Terry was born on April 8, 1934 in Govan, Glasgow, Scotland but moved to Pomeroy, county Tyrone, Ireland at age five. At age fourteen, he finished national school in Pomeroy and went to college at Dungannon Technical School for two years, followed by a five year apprenticeship in electrical. After completing his apprenticeship, Terry set sail for Canada upon the SS Franconia and headed west to work in Alberta. On a trip home to Ireland, he met the love of his life, Brigid O'Hagan. They were married soon after and returned to Alberta, settling in Drayton Valley where they raised their family and started a business. Terry retired in Stony Plain where he lived out his final years surrounded by friends and loved ones. The family would like to thank the staff at the cottages for their wonderful care throughout Terry's illness. It is greatly appreciated.
Prayer Service will take place at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (200 Boundary Road, Spruce Grove) at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th with the Funeral Mass taking place on Friday, March 15th at 10:30 a.m., also at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. YOUNG Leslie January 14, 1918 - September 25, 2010 Les passed away September 25, 2010. Born in Coagh, Cookstown, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland, January 14, 1918, he immigrated to Calgary in 1948 with members of his family, and in 1952 joined Calgary Transit, retiring twenty-seven years ago after thirty-one years of accident-free driving. Leslie was a 65 year member of the Masonic Order. He joined Curran Lodge No. 532 in Northern Ireland in 1946, affiliating with Crescent Lodge No. 87 when he arrived in Calgary; was a member of Scottish Rite since 1954, a fifty-year member of Al Azhar Temple, life member of the Arab Patrol, a member of the Sabre Patrol and the Pumpernickel Band. He was a fifty-two-year member of Job's Daughters International, PAGG, PAG No. 12, Calgary; a ten-year member of Edith Cavell Chapter No. 25, OES, and for many, many years played the bass/snit drum for all of the above organizations. Leslie will be missed by his niece, Victoria ""Sandi"" Gibson and brother Robert Alexander ""Sandy"" Young (Gladys). He was predeceased by his parents, William and Emma Young; sister Eliza ""Babs"" Gibson; brothers James and Albert Young. Les will be remembered by his many friends for his great sense of humour and Irish wit, and his love of gardening and travelling. A Celebration of Leslie's Life will be held at The Al Azhar Centre (5225 - 101 Street N.W.) on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Hector Rose officiating. BRADLEY Mona Marie (Roberts) ( Friday, 27 Mar 2015 ) It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the sudden passing of Mona Bradley (nee Roberts) at her home in Salmon Arm on March 27, 2015. Mona was born at Barrhead, Alberta on September 1, 1960. She was the 10th of 12 children born to William Roberts of Barrhead, and Mary Anne Moss, of Aghyaran, in the County Tyrone, Ireland. She spent her first seven years on the family farm. In 1967 the family moved to Revelstoke and to Salmon Arm in 1968. With the exception of a few years in Vancouver, Mona lived in Salmon Arm for the rest of her life. She was predeceased by her sister Mary in 1966, her father in 1977, her brother Ron in 2003, her mother in 2008, her brother William in 2010, and her sister Theresa in August of 2014. She was a mother, sister, aunt and great friend. Many knew her and remember her in this sad time. She was well known in the hospitality industry, as well as in the great circle of friends common to her family in the Shuswap-Okanagan, the Lower Mainland, Alberta, and in Ireland and the United States. Mona lived for her daughter, Jennifer, who grew up in Salmon Arm and graduated from high school here. During Jennifer's high school years, their home was a gathering place to a good number of young people who have now said they saw Mona as a second mother. That home was the center of her life, surrounded by the beauty of Mona's green thumbed hobby, and often filled with the delights of her great cooking and the family and friends come back from far and wide, to laugh together and tell wild stories, growing wilder in the telling at each repeat. Mona Bradley is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Nigel) of Leduc, Alberta. She is also survived by three sisters and four brothers: Maureen Roberts of Connemara, Ireland; Eileen Loewen (Darrell) of Vernon, BC; Sheila Robertson, of Delta, BC; Kevin Roberts, of Calgary, Alberta; Dennis Roberts of Salmon Arm, James Roberts (Barb) of Salmon Arm, and Patrick Roberts (Katie) of Fort Smith, NT. Her passing is also deeply mourned by her 18 nieces and nephews and her wider family in BC, Alberta, the United States and Ireland. She was a great aunt, literally and in every sense of those words. Mass of Christian Burial took place at 2 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. Joseph�s Catholic Church, 90 1 St SE, Salmon Arm, BC, Celebrant Father George. Interment followed in Mt. Ida Cemetery. BROWNE Michael Joseph October 07, 1931 - January 31, 2009 Passed away suddenly at Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster after lengthy illness with COPD. Born in Montreal, Quebec, moved to BC late 1960's. Predeceased by parents, Michael and Alice Browne, Burnaby, BC both born in Co Tyrone, Ireland, also brothers: Sean Browne and Leo Browne. Lovingly remembered by wife of 31 years, Esther Browne (Morris), son, Brian Browne/Kersten Grady, brother, Frank Browne/Sylvia, sister, Patricia Galliford, Wayne Mitchell, Udo Kenklies/Anna and numerous nieces, nephews. CAMPBELL Andrew Robinson. Born in Newtown Stewart, County Tyrone, N. Ireland on May 11, 1920, died unexpectedly yet peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at the age of 84, with his son and daughter-in law at his side. Robbie is survived by his loving son Dennis and daughter-in-law Jane; beloved granddaughters Shannon and Melissa. With his parents, 2 brothers and sister (all predeceased), he emigrated to Storthoaks, Sask. in 1928. He was a member of the R.C.M.P. from 1941 until 1966, retiring as a Staff Sgt. (Special Branch). He joined the B.C. Securities Commission in 1966 as an investigator and retired in 1980 as a Deputy Superintendent of Brokers. His honesty and integrity in his professional and personal lives brought him respect and many life-long friends from all walks of life. He was a talented furniture maker and a handyman who was generous with his time in helping others. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Marpole United Church, 1296 West 67th Avenue (at Hudson Street), Vancouver with Rev. Rick Taylor and Rev. JONES Arthur Born July 5, 1925 in Co. Tyrone Northern Ireland Passed away into the presence of our Lord on January 4, 2008 after living a life that touched many other lives through his medical practice, church family, as well as those he came into contact with. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean of 55 years, daughter Deirdre (Robert) Poirier, sons Brian (Marion), Lliam, and Niall (Angela); and grandchildren Anna, Matthew, Kendal, Charmaine, Chelsea, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Arthur, and Keir. He will be dearly missed by friends, colleagues, and patients. He practiced medicine in Port Coquitlam for 35 years, ministering to many lives. The family wishes to thank the many healthcare personnel, and friends that supported and encouraged during his time of failing health. Arthur loved to spend time with friends; especially reaching out to those in a time of need. He loved to tell stories, laugh, read, golf, and take time to appreciate God's creation. PATRICK Maureen October 27, 1946 - May 20, 2013 With broken hearts we announce the passing of Maureen "Moe" Patrick after a brief, hard-fought battle with cancer. Maureen grew up on a farm in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, the youngest child of six. She attended a very primitive one room school as a child and took up the trade of hairdresser as a young adult. She obtained work on a cruise ship and traveled to exotic places all over the world. In 1979 she moved to Canada and continued working as a hairdresser, starting friendships that would last decades and putting down roots. Here she met the love of her life, Dave, supporting his various unique endeavours and becoming a warm and loving stepmother to his three children,Adrienne, Leanne, and Kevin. To know Moe was to love her. She was truly beautiful inside and out. She ran into someone she knew everywhere she went. She was nurturing, generous, and always lending a helping hand. Moe was a trustworthy confidante yet avoided talking about herself or asking for help at all costs. She never complained. She felt genuine concern for those down on their luck and quietly fundraised for many charities. An amazing hostess, Moe held legendary parties and she and Dave warmly welcomed everyone into their home and hearts. As their children found partners, their family grew to include David, Michael, and Sarah.Moe was heartbroken when Dave passed away in 2009. She actively kept his spirit alive, encouraging environmental awareness, for one small example. Despite suffering such a significant loss, she did her best to live life to the fullest and treasured many special trips with family and friends over these last several years. The twinkle in Moe's eyes also brightened considerably with the birth of her first grandchild, Drew. She called him "the best boy in Delta" and did anything she could to make him smile. Moe was furthermore fortunate to meet her two granddaughters this spring, Ava and Madeleine, and enjoyed the comfort of newborn smells and snuggles. Moe looked on the positive side of everything and was always the first to poke fun at herself when she did something "the Irish way". She had an undeniably green thumb and maintained a beautiful garden. At heart she truly remained a country girl even after living in Vancouver for 35 years and loved gathering berries to make jam which she gave to her many friends. Her best friends Fred and Keala will miss her terribly, as will her Annieville neighbours, hairdressing friends and golfing pals, many of whom were akin to family. Maureen will be lovingly remembered by brother Robert; sisters Eveline, Mabel, Kathleen, Anne; their spouses and many nieces, nephews and "greats," including: Ian, Ruth, Stephanie, David, John, Colin, Lara, Andrew, and Paul. She will further be missed by mother-in-law Lorraine, sister-in-law Laurie, brother-in-law Gord, and nephews Colin, Evan, and Jeremy. Thank you to the compassionate nurses and staff at Peace Arch Hospice who became part of Moe's extended family over these last four months. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donating to the White Rock Hospice Society. A small graveside ceremony will take place at Boundary Bay Cemetery on May 30th at 11am. MOHAN Catherine Mary (nee Coney) May 12, 1927 – August 29, 2012 Peacefully on Wednesday August 29, 2012 our mother passed away in the comfort of her home and family.
She was predeceased by her mother Catherine and father Neal, her brothers Jack, John, Jodi, and Oliver. She is survived by her sisters Rosie, Bridgette, Kathleen, and Josephine and her brother Patie and devoting husband Daniel Mohan of 59 years of marriage. She leaves behind her children Joseph (Lorraine), Martin, John, Danielle, Colin, Colette (Jerry), and Bernadette (Kevin). As well as grandchildren Dustin, Alanna, Liam, Brenna, Jennifer, Erin (James), Alisha, Brendan, Shaun, and great grand children Kristine, Seth, Tyra, and Lelynd. Our mother was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and came to Canada in 1951. She held many jobs, but it was her love of beekeeping that filled her life along with her gardens. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eveline Chambers (82 years young), formerly of Tweed, Ontario, Canada. Evie succumbed September 7th to colon cancer, surrounded by her loving family at Pickering Ajax Hospital. She was predeceased by son Barry and is survived by her husband of 59 years Robert (Bob) Chambers, sister Ena Lewis and brother Bertie Trueman (Ruth) and their families in Northern Ireland, son Trevor Chambers, dearest daughter-in-law Sharon Chambers, loving grandsons Harrison and Gavin Chambers, cherished granddaughter Keegan Chambers and grandson Robbie. GLASGOW James (“Jim”) Nelson Passed away after a valiant battle against lymphoma at London Health Sciences Centre, London, Ontario on June 5, 2015. Survived by his wife Margaret (“Jean”) of Forest, Ontario; daughter Colleen Webster (Mac) of Forest; and son Kevin Glasgow (Sandy Bennett) of Toronto. Also survived by grandsons William, Duncan, and Scott (Jenna). Predeceased by sister Sarah Jane Bent and brothers-in-law Norman Dickie, Douglas Buchanan, and Gerald Bent. Jim will also be missed by his three sisters in Northern Ireland – Molly Buchanan, Gretta Dickie, and Emma Kilpatrick (John). Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews in N. Ireland, England, and North America. Born in Cookstown, County Tyrone, N. Ireland on January 25, 1935, Jim – a “sailor Glasgow” – rode the seas to Canada in 1957. His cherished Jean followed in 1959, and together the immigrant couple proudly became Canadians in spirit, if not in accent. Jim pursued a career in retail (and Jean in nursing), raising a family in Exeter, Ontario. A farmer at heart, Jim loved to garden. God was his guiding light, and he served as a church elder (and treasurer) for many years. Although he rarely pampered himself, he was unfailingly generous with family, friends, neighbours, and a variety of good causes. At Jim’s request, there will be no visitation. JARVIS Thomas 'Archie' - With sadness, we announce the passing of Archie Jarvis, formerly of Boyne, on Monday, September 28, 2015. Along with his brothers, Jim and Harold, Archie farmed the land pioneered by his great grandfather John Jarvis of County Tyrone Ireland cca.1830. In his youth, Archie was an avid fox hunter and ballplayer with the Omagh Softball Club. When he retired from farming, he travelled widely with his brothers, John and James. In 1989, Archie and James moved to their new home in Ennismore where they found good neighbours and fields to walk. Archie came back home to Milton in 2009 where he lived with John until his death. He is predeceased by his siblings, Pat, Helen, Charlene, Jim, Edythe and Harold. He was a good and honourable son, protective and nurturing brother, generous and ever-present uncle. Archie will be missed by his brother John and three generations of nieces and nephews. JONES Kathleen May 7, 2008 Kathleen arrived with the sunrise on March 20, 1917 in Omagh, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Anyone who knew her was certainly aware that sunshine followed her wherever she went. The 5th of 6 sisters, Kathleen married her childhood sweetheart Alec Jones. Kathleen had a wonderful life and she took every opportunity to tell whoever would listen, all about it. And there were a lot of listeners. She will be sadly missed by her son Henry (Vera), daughter Jane Lynas (Robert), son Richard (Catherine), grandsons Mark Jones (Leigh) and Clayton Lynas (Kim), sisters, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and grand friends alike. Kathleen was a longtime member of the Ottawa Choral Society, a supporter of Save the Children Canada, the Eastern Chapter of the Society of Ontario Nut Growers, the Queensway Carleton Hospital and more. McLOUGHLIN James 'Jim' Rodgers 93, Irish-born Air Force Veteran, Teacher, Educator Peacefully, in his sleep April 18, 2011. Jim was born in Carrickfergus, No. Ireland, the youngest of five children to Edward and Elizabeth (Rodgers) McLoughlin. His illustrious career included serving in the R.A.F. in WWII in North Africa and India; Vice Principal at Sion Mills School, Co. Tyrone; after emigrating to Canada in 1956 with his children and wife and partner of 61 years, May (Beveridge) McLoughlin (pre-deceased 2006), he was recruited by the RCAF and served across Canada, before becoming Training & Education Director in the Federal Government. Jim was a true Renaissance man, with a deep faith. All those whose lives he touched remember his warmth, wit and wise counsel. Jim will be forever remembered by his beloved children, Elizabeth (Kent Waldruff), Rosemary (Bill Olivier), Adrienne (Frank Carroll), Barry (Laura Peck), Nora (Dave Docherty), pre-deceased by his son Stephen (Ingrid Berger); his seven treasured grand-children, Hannah, Conor, Siobhan, Sinead, Caroline, Brendan, Liam; his four great grandchildren (Daire, Ella, Kate, Lennox). LEE Brigid Agnes (nee HACKETT) Brigid was born in County Tyrone, Ireland; her parents were Mary Ann Norris and Joseph Hackett. Married in Kent, England during the Second World War she was the beloved wife of the late Alton Beverly Lee whom endearingly named her Paddy. CAMPBELL Owen G. December 22, 1920 October 6, 2009 Owen Campbell passed away peacefully at Regina General Hospital on October 6, 2009. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife Helen, with whom he shared the past 59 years of his life; his six children, David (Gail) Campbell, Pat (Marilyn) Campbell, Colleen Campbell (Randy Maierhoffer), Karen (Nick) Colabella, Kevin Campbell (Art Janzen) and MaryAnn (Randy) Link; six grandchildren, Krista Greenlees, Ryan (Heidi) Campbell, Owen P. and Sean Campbell, Jennifer and Jackie O'Neil. He is further survived by his brother John (Rita) Campbell; his sisters, Brigid Gorman, Molly Engel, Helen Reich and Theresa (Stan) Howden; many nieces and nephews as well as good friends and neighbours including Brett Greenlees, Avery and Phyllis Pearson and his cribbage buddies. Chloe the cat will also miss her lap time with her Papa. Owen is predeceased by his parents John and Mary-Jane Campbell; his sisters Margaret Feeney, Ann Falvey, Kay Campbell; and his brothers Peter and Joseph Campbell. Owen was born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada at the age of nine. He enlisted into the Air Force during WWII, flew on numerous flight missions and bravely defended his country. To his very end he carried memories of his battles and kept his camaraderie with the Veterans and Legion very close. In the 1950's he and Helen built a farm equipment business in McLean, SK that progressed, moved to Balgonie and grew for the next 20 years. During this time he also farmed in the Qu'Appelle area. Although he was a farmer at heart, Owen was also a lifelong salesman; generous and trusting. He had such appreciation for his customers and believed that his word and handshake were what mattered. Later Owen engaged as a Director with Gallowai Metal Mining and this became his next purpose and passion in seeing it progress. Papa was the pillar of our family; all the years of our gatherings will be held in such dear memory. His devout Catholic faith and unwavering love of God with Jesus Christ his savior were Owen's foundation and saw him through all of life's challenges. A FUNERAL MASS will be celebrated at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, October 10th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend J.B. Okai officiating. A lunch will follow in the church basement. A private family interment will take place at a later date. FEIT Isabella (McNeil) May 17, 1926 ~ January 24, 2014 It is with sadness the family of Isabella Feit of Saskatoon (formerly of Regina) announces her passing at the age of 87 years. She passed away in her sleep at Royal University Hospital due to complications from heart failure. Born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, she immigrated to Saskatchewan with her parents James and Annie Potter in infancy. She is survived by her son Ken (Donna) McNeil of Wainwright, AB, daughter Margo Fries of Saskatoon, SK, 4 grandchildren, 7 great - grandchildren, brother Cecil Potter of Courtney, BC, sister Donna (Ron) Harvey of Fort Qu-Appelle, SK, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents James and Annie Potter, brothers George Potter and Don Potter, husbands Harold McNeil and Peter Feit, and daughter Rene Feit in infancy. Mom started her working career when she enlisted at the age of 18 years in the Royal Canadian Navy stationed in Halifax, NS where she met and married her first husband Harold McNeil. Returning to Saskatchewan, she met and married Peter Feit in March of 1967. She was employed by the Anti-Tuberculosis League, Fort San, SK, later moving to Regina to begin employment as a nurses assistant at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, training as a certified ECG Technician and working at the Pasqua Hospital up until her retirement. She was a founding member of the Saskatchewan ECG Technicians Association and was president of the Canadian and Saskatchewan Associations for a number of years. Mom moved to Saskatoon, SK in 1992 to be closer to her family. Mom's love of travel took her to Europe, Ireland, Hawaii, as well as wintering in Mesa, Arizona for 18 years. She travelled from coast to coast in Canada and various locations in the United States and Mexico. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 3rd Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H5) or to the Saskatoon SPCA (5028 Clarence Ave S, Saskatoon, SK S7T 1A7). HOBSON Ethel Doreen March 17, 1923 – November 18, 2014 On November 18, 2014, Doreen Hobson passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Doreen was a true daughter of Ireland, having been born on St. Patrick's Day 1923 in Dungannon, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The second of four children born to Russell and Esther Richardson, she immigrated to Canada with her family, arriving in this country on her first birthday. Doreen spent the early years of her life on the Richardson family farm near Baring, Saskatchewan, until she met and married the love of her life, Glen Hobson. In 1942, after their marriage, Doreen and Glen farmed near Grenfell and raised two daughters, Gail and Judy. Doreen and Glen retired from farming in 1970, after which they moved to Grenfell and were active in the community for many years. During this time, they took a two-month trip around the world together, and over the years, they travelled to many far away destinations. After Glen's death in 1997, Doreen lived in Grenfell until 2005, when she moved to Regina to be closer to family. During her years in Regina, living the "condo life," she remained active by visiting with friends and family, taking on anyone who wanted to play a game of cribbage, and going for a weekly lunch with the ladies from Marian Grande.
A gifted artist, Doreen could turn her hand to almost anything, including sewing, ceramics, calligraphy, and creating hand-made cards that will always be treasured by family and friends. She was an avid gardener, and her home was a source of wonder to others because of how tidy and organized she kept it, and how it was almost a museum of family keepsakes and travel treasures. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, her husband Glen, her son-in-law Duane Bradley, her sister, Anne and brother, Raymond. She is survived by her two daughters, Gail Bradley of Regina and Judy Butterfield (Oliver) of Kelowna as well as her sister, Vera Stacey. Doreen will also be remembered with fondness by her four granddaughters: LeAnn Mogerman (Aaron), Jennifer Dickie, Cara Bradley (Stephen King), and Crista Bradley (Bruce Dawson). She very much loved her three great- grandchildren, Isaac Mogerman, Charlotte Bradley-Dawson and Benjamin Bradley- Dawson, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Doreen's family would like to thank the staff and owners of the Solace personal care home for the kindness and compassion they showed her over the past two years. Doreen soon came to think of Solace as "her home." Doreen was a kind, dignified and elegant lady who was a wonderful role model for her family and a treasured friend to many. She was infinitely patient, had a quick wit, and her grace and humility charmed everyone who met her. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother right to the end, always showing more concern for her family than for herself. Her friends and family will miss her very much.

MAGEE Helen Margaret was born on September 20, 1917 in Clogher, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland. Helen passed away peacefully on November 16, 2008 at Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her parents Sarah and James Magee; brothers Jim and Fred Magee; sisters Ruby Genge, Freda Forsyth, Olga Wolfe, Jessie Konanz and Sarah Magee (in infancy). MAGEE Sylvia Bunny-Sylvia, Bunny, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Nov 28, 2011. She was born in Clogher, County Tyrone, Ireland on May 13, 1925. Her family moved to Craik, SK in 1928 and then later to Regina. She was predeceased by her parents James and Sarah Magee; six sisters; and two brothers. Sylvia is survived by her greatest joy in life, her daughter Colleen; two brothers-in-law, Maurice Wolfe and Peter Konanz; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Sylvia was employed by the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool until her health caused her to take early retirement. It was not her battle with cancer which she survived over 30 years, but her journey with Alzheimer's that proved the greatest challenge. As with any obstacle, she tackled it with fierce determination and her fighting Irish spirit. Those who knew Bunny, as she was affectionately known, will remember her love of family, loyalty and determination, bright smile, quick wit and delicious baking she shared with everyone. Colleen wishes to thank Dr. Salgado who went above and beyond the role of physician in his care for "My Sylvia ", and to Sylvia's extended family of caregivers at Regina Lutheran Home for the care, compassion, respect and dignity given in her final years. O'HAGAN Daniel (Dan) Dan died peacefully in Porteous Lodge on Friday, June 22, 2012 with family by his side. All who loved him are saddened by his leaving but rejoice that after suffering he is at rest. He is survived by his wife, Mae, his children, Fergal (Kathy), Shaun (Tracey), Emer (Eric), Brendan (Taa) and grandchildren, Renée, Maire, Liam, Luke, Matthew and Alex. He was born in Eskra, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland and was educated at the local primary school. As a young teenager he started work in his father's forge as a blacksmith, became a drillsmith and later a welder and fabricator. He worked on hydro projects on the Erne River in Ireland, the Zambezi in Africa, the Nelson in Manitoba and the Gardiner Dam in Saskatchewan. He worked on road and airport construction from the Gander airport to the Rogers Pass in B.C. He then moved to potash; worked seven years at Allan Potash Mine, and finally to uranium, worked for seventeen years at Rabbit Lake Mine, retiring in 1991. In his spare time his yellow welding truck was a familiar sight for miles around Allan where he provided a service for farmers broken down in the field. He made many ornamental iron railings and gates and was the "go to" guy for any steel repair job that no one else would tackle. With Emer and Eric he put in a big garden every year, kept his bird feeders filled and his purple martin house ready for the tenants every spring. He showed us all how to do a good job well, to enjoy doing it and to have fun when it was done. Our very sincere thanks to the staff at Porteous Lodge for their loving care over the past fourteen months and to the Access Transit service which made it possible for Mae to spend nearly every day with Dan while he was there. Vigil for Dan will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Park Funeral Chapel. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Allan,SK at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Both services will be celebrated by Father Joseph Jacek, O.M.I. John Mitchell was born in Tyrone in 1776 and died in Canaan, Kings County, Nova Scotia on April 26, 1871. During the first half of the Nineteenth century he with possibly his wife, Anne, and their two sons John and Robert emigrated to Nova Scotia were they family operated a farm in Kentville, Kings County. His son Robert who later became a Tailor married Hannah Fitzpatrick. On February 5, 1867 they has a son James Edgar Mitchell, who is my Grandfather. He died in Philadelphia, PA. USA on February 2, 1940. and was interred in the Greennwood Cemetery in Philadelphia. His son, is my father, James Gordon Bennett Mitchell was born in Philadelphia, PA. USA on January 1, 1909. He went on to become a successful Architect in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C. He died on November 11, 1978 and was interred in Union Cemetery Spencerville, Maryland.
Samuel James Warwick Liggett was born 20 Oct 1925 in Mullyneil townland, near Caledon, Co Tyrone to William and Mary Isabella Liggett. Before her marriage, she was Minnie Cross of Dungannon. Sam was the youngest of three. His sister Betty married Bob Parr a farmer of Tannagh. They had seven children, Jim, Robert, Judith, Joan, David, Christabel and Maureen. His brother Billy continued to farm the home farm, and married Ruth Haddon. Derek was their only child. Sam’s parents, siblings and their spouses are all deceased as of 2016, as is his nephew Derek. Sam attended The Royal School in Dungannon where he was a keen rugby player. On graduation, he worked for a bank in Ireland, then the Mercantile Bank in London, before being posted to Malaya and Ceylon. When home on leave in 1955, he decided to emigrate to Canada. There he worked for The Bank of Montreal, earned his CGA degree and then worked for Revenue Canada. Another Irishman, the Rev. Bob Cunningham, minister of St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church in Vancouver, introduced him to Doreen Mary Coutts, and married them in 1957. The family made their home in Richmond, a suburb of Vancouver, and raised four children: Andrew, Chrystal, David and Shelagh. He had four grandchildren. Several visits to the family in Ireland were made over the years, and return visits by some to Canada. They are still in touch. During the more than 30 years in Richmond, Sam took a great interest in the church and in the community. He died on 22 July 1996, and is buried in the Masonic Cemetery [headstone], Burnaby, BC, where is wife’s parents and maternal grandparents are also buried.
