COUNTY OF TYRONE ASSIZES
The Assizes for this county commenced at Omagh on Tuesday last. The Hon. Justice JOHNSTON, in the Crown Court, and the Hon. Baron McCLELLAND in the Record Court. The following Gentlemen were sworn on the Grand Jury:

Thirty persons were convicted of practices connected with illicit distillation, - 14 sentenced to pay a fine of £2 or be imprisoned for 2 months, and 16 to pay a fine of two pounds and be imprisoned one month
ROBERT A. KINNEER and JAMES DONNELLY, Indicted for having forged and counterfeited certain documents, by which he, the said JAMES DONNELLY, obtained a pension from the Lords Commissioners of Chelsea Hospital, on pretence of being disabled in the Strule Yeomanry, by having lost his eye sight from the flash of a pan at a General Inspection at Omagh [A lengthy report of the trial is printed in full]
The prisoners were both found guilty, and after a long and impressive
lecture from the Hon. BARON McCLELLAND, received the following sentence:
ROBERT ALEXANDER KINNEER, to be imprisoned for two years and six months, he
having submitted in the same charge with JOHN KERR, for a similar offence,
and JAMES DONNELLY to be imprisoned for one year.
