TYRONE ASSIZES HELD AT OMAGH, MARCH 12, 1815

On Wednesday last, the Honourable Justice OSBORNE, opened the Commission in the Crown Court, where the following trials took place:

Indicted for the robbery of JAMES QUIN, in Aughnacloy - discharged by proclamation

Indicted for sheep stealing - to be transmitted to Lifford, to stand his trial for the same

For stealing a hat - discharged by proclamation

Officer of Excise, for an assault on WILLIAM HAMILTON, after having him in custody, as a prisoner, guilty - fined sixpence, discharged

For stopping WILLIAM BUCHANNAN, an Officer of Excise, in the execution of his duty, guilty - to pay a fine of £100; or to be imprisoned twelve months

 

Forty-eight persons were found guilty of illicit distillation, and severally fined £10, to be paid to the prosecutor, and to be confined six months
