John Franklin Webb:
John Franklin Webb was born August 2, 1849, at Bellbuckle, Tennessee, and married Alzira Elizabeth Stubblefield on January 29, 1880, at Washburn, Missouri, by John Roberts.
While teaching school in Missouri, John F. Webb decided to move to Oklahoma Territory because he and his wife believed the West to have a more healthful climate. He received encouraging letters from his brother, W. T. (Bill) Webb, who told of the new fertile country.
John F. and Alzira had ten children born at Exeter, Missouri, and two at Comanche County, Oklahoma Territory. They purchased their farm two miles south and one mile east of the present site of Tipton, Oklahoma, in August, 1902. The family returned to Cassville, Missouri, leaving Horace, the eldest son, on the farm while John prepared to move the family to Oklahoma Territory.
The John Webb family bought a farm one mile south of Tipton in 1904. Horace Webb kept the original homestead for his home. The John Webb family lived in a half dug-out in 1904 and 1905. John Webb sowed the first alfalfa in his area in 1908, and he won first prize in the Chicago World's Fair for his alfalfa seed. Webb was an elder in the Church of Christ. He also served as judge in the early years and married many couples on their farm one-half mile south of the present site of Tipton. His daughter, Inez Webb, worked as bookkeeper for the Farmers' State Bank when it first opened in 1909. John Webb's brother, W. T. (Bill) Webb was a director of Farmers' State Bank, first bank in Tipton, Oklahoma. The John Webb family visited with many local families when the first lots were sold in Tipton August 7, 1909.
John Webb served as a member of the school boards at Pleasant Valley and Tipton. His son, Horace, taught at Circle Valley and White Lake Schools, and served as County Commissioner. Ulys taught at Pleasant Valley in 1904-05. Iva taught at Tesca school three terms in 1916, 1917, and 1918, as well as one year in Tipton in 1915. Mary taught in Tipton, Mexico, Frederick, and twenty-six years at the University of Wisconsin. Xoe taught at Frederick, one year in Kingman, Kansas, and in Cotton County, Oklahoma. Faye taught in central Oklahoma. Dorris taught in north central Oklahoma schools. The John Webb family attended Circle Valley, Pleasant Valley, and Tipton Schools. Mary, Xoe, Faye, Dorris and Ulys attended the University of Oklahoma. Nix attended Oklahoma State University.
Frank died when he was eleven years of age in 1909 and is buried in the Tipton Cemetery. Alice died April 24, 1899, in Exeter, Missouri. Hugh died February 5, 1900, in Exeter, Missouri. John F. died December 19, 1919, at Tipton. Mrs. John F. Webb died in Norman, Oklahoma, in 1946 and was buried in the Tipton Cemetery. Ulys died in 1959 at Skiatook, Oklahoma. Horace died in September, 1963, and was buried in Tipton Cemetery. Inez Webb Gober died May 31, 1975, at Bovina Texas.

Faye Alberta Webb:
Born in Tillman County, OK. In January 1920, she moved to Norman. Graduated from University High School. Received bachelor's degree in home economics from the University of Oklahoma in 1927. Taught school for a year. Studied at University Hospital in Oklahoma City to be a dietitian. From 1929-43, she was dietitian at the Sunbeam Home in Oklahoma City. Following the death of her mother in 1946, she became dietitian at Central State Griffin Memorial Hospital, retiring from there in 1971. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Ulys Webb:

Claude Isom Gober:
Lt. Claude "Buzz" Gober was a member of the 384th Bomb Group, 544th Sqn., 8th United States Air Force. Lt. Gober was killed in an aircraft accident (Boeing B-17 "Flying Fortress) on his first mission. The accident occurred at Wargrave, UK, which is approximately 25 miles west of the center of London. There was only one survivor of the air crew of 10. Web page under construction honoring the life and death of this young airman.
Iva Jane Webb:
Iva arrived in Comanche County, Oklahoma Territory on March 3, 1903, with her family. She attended school at Circle Valley, Pleasant Valley, and Tipton. Iva Webb taught school in Tipton in 1915 and Tesca in 1916, 1917, and 1918.
On April 14, 1919, Miss Iva Webb married Lee Owens, son of John W. and Ophelia Bland Owens. Lee was born December 8, 1892, at Hillsboro, Texas, and he came to Kiowa County, Oklahoma Territory, with his parents. He attended Chadwick, Centerview, and Tipton schools. Lee Owens was a member of the first Freshman High School class in 1912 in Tipton.
The Owens had three children; John Lee, Frank, and Jane. All the Owens children attended Abilene Christian College. Frank attended the University of Oklahoma, and Jane attended Hill's Business College in Oklahoma City.
Lee Owens was Mayor of the town of Tipton in the early 1920's and served as town treasurer for twenty years. Lee was employed at Cicero Smith Lumber Company in Tipton for forty years, and was manager of the chain lumber yards: in Crowell, Texas, two years; Vernon, Texas, two years, and Tahoka, Texas, for four years. He was a Mason and a member of the Church of Christ.
