Sergeant Arthur Cozine
Sgt. Arthur Cozine of 756 Lincoln pl. is in a camp hospital near Paris recovering from shell shock and a gas attack,
according to word sent to William Ray Cozine of Rhinebeck, N. Y.  The report is that, with six privates and a corporal,
Cozine was sent to the enemy's lines to reconnoitre. The Germans started a barrage. The little group of Americans
crawled into a shell crater until the barrage lifted. When they made their way back to their lines it was found that the
corporal was missing. Sgt Cozine went back to look for him four times, but without success.
Cozine left for France last April as a member of the 305th Inf.

Dies Suddenly
Lt. Col. Arthur Cozine of Albany Post Road, Rhinebeck, died suddenly in
Kingston Thursday. Retired at the time of his death, he had been executive
manager of the Long Island City Paramount Studios for 20 years and had
lived in Rhinebeck since 1910.
Lt. Col. Cozine was married to the former Marion H. Winne of Kingston,
widow of Spencer Ennist, two weeks ago. His first wife, the former Julia A.
Decker died in 1956.
An army veteran of World War I, World War II and the Korean conflict, he was
a member and past commander of Montgomery Post 429, American Legion.
He was also a member of Rhinebeck Grange 496, Rhinebeck Lodge 432,
F&AM, and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Brooklyn.
He was born in Brooklyn, the son of James J. and Harriet Olmstead Cozine.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Major W. Ray Cozine of
Rhinebeck; a sister, Violet Cozine of Rhinebeck, and a cousin, Stanley
Cozine of Garden City , L. I.
Funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. at the Dapson Funeral Home,
65 West Market Street, Rhinebeck. The Rev. Gordon Kidd, pastor of
St. James Episcopal Church, Hyde Park, will officiate. Burial will be in
Rhinebeck Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Funeral home Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon
and evening. Rhinebeck Lodge 432, F&AM, will conduct services Sunday
7:30 p.m. Montgomery Post 429, American Legion, will hold services at 8:30p.m.

Maj. Ray Cozine
Rhinebeck- Maj. W. Ray Cozine, 105 Mill St., died June 6 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
He was a motion picture director at Paramount Studios and wrote, directed and adapted plays for the screen.
Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of James J. and Henrietta (Olmstead) Cozine. He attended Erasmus Hall.
He was a graduate of Pratt Institute and did post-graduate work at the American Academy of Arts and the New York Institute.
Maj. Cozine served in the US Army from 1942 to 1946, and was a member of the Retired Officers Association of the Army and the Disabled Officers Association.
He was a member of the Foundation of the Motion Picture Pioneers Inc., Rhinebeck Lodge F and A.M.; Rhinebeck Grange, and Montgomery Post, American Legion, Rhinebeck, Maj. Cozine had been active in the development of the Knollwood section of Rhinebeck.
Surviving are his wife, the former Beatrice Tremper, and a cousin Stanley Cozine.
Funeral services were Friday at the Dapson Funeral Home, 65 W. Market St. THe Rev. Leslie F. Prutton officiated. Burial was in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Jacob Cozine, an old-time farmer of the New Lots section of Brooklyn, died yesterday at his home, 908 New Lots Road, in his eighty-third year. Mr. Cozine was at one time Highways Commissioner of the old town of New Lots, and for many years served as a member of the Board of School Commissioners of the town, and later as a member of the Board of Education of the old City of Brooklyn. He was an Elder of the New Lots Dutch Reformed Church, and a member of the St. Nicholas Society.

Obituary
John G. Cozine
John G. Cozine who died at his home, 71 Weirfield St, yesterday, in the 81st year of his age, was a native of Gravesend and for many years had followed an occupation on the bay as a fisherman.  He lived in Bath Beach nearly all his life and was well thought of by his neighbors. About nine years ago he moved to the house for he died in which he had bought.  He was a member of Company A., 139th Regiment, New York State Volunteers, which was recruited in Bath Beach, and served all through the civil war.  Two married daughters and a son, Wesley S. Cozine, who is a patrolman in the 55th Precinct, survive him.  The funeral will take place at Mr. Cozine's late home tomorrow at 8 P.M.

his late residence at Whitehouse.  He had been an inmate of the
home for two weeks.  A widow and two children survive.
