Obituary
Samuel E. Cozine
The funeral of Samuel E. Cozine, grandfather of Samuel Youmans
of Nassau, will be held today in Freehold with Rev. Arthur Higgins
of the Freehold Christian Church officiating. Interment will
be in Maple Grove cemetery, Kew Gardens. Mr. Cozine died
Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clinton Story, in
Freehold. He was born in 1861 and was a retired Long Island farmer
and garage owner. He operated the first garage in Cairo. He and
his wife had retired to Daytona Beach, Fla., since 1922. Other
survivors besides Mrs. Story and his grandson, include his widow, the
former Ann Bergen; a son, Samuel E. Cozine jr., of Cairo; a brother,
Herbert D. Cozine of Baldwin, L.I.; five grandchildren, Samuel E.
Cozine, 3rd of Queen's Village; Mrs. Ardella Jones of Freeport, L.I.;
George Story of Freephold. Lester Youmans, jr., of Freehold, and
Donald Youmans of Ithaca, as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Helen L. Cozine, longtime Riverhead resident, died at Riverhead Nursing home on Sept. 17. She was 96.
Ms. Cozine was born to Max and Louisa (Sailor) Wahl in Brooklyn on Nov. 4, 1908. She attended business school, graduating in 1925, and worked as a secretary on Wall Street. In 1930, she married William Cozine and moved to Manorville and later to Riverhead, where she took care of her home and children.
Family members described her as always helping out others. "She was great," said her daughter, also Helen Cozine, of Riverhead. "She was very caring to all of us." Ms. Cozine enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening.
In addition to her daughter Helen, Ms. Cozine is survived by her daughter Sandra Schwarz of Riverhead; her brother Fred Wahl of Riverhead; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Her husband predeceased her.
Visitation was held Sept. 20 at Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead. A religious service was held the following day at Christ Lutheran Church, East Moriches, with the Rev. John Fleischmann officiating. Interment followed at Riverhead Cemetery.

Obituary
Marguerite Theresa Cozine, 86, of Beverly Hills, died Tuesday at home.
A native of New York City, she moved to this area nine years ago from
Rockville Center, N.Y. She was a retired dietitian and a member of
Citrus County Multipurpose Senior Center, Friends of the Senior Center,
Loveable Lambs and Rams and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She is survived by a niece, Margaret Clements of Beverly Hills; and several
great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home, Inverness.
