Lorena Agne Rogers Cozine Donohue died in her sleep Monday, Dec 16, 2002. She was born January 18, 1918 in Johnson County to Norma A. and Maude Gibson Rogers. In 1921, the family moved to Iowa City where she attended schools through the junior year of Iowa City High School. She graduated from West Branch High School in 1935. She graduated from Irish's Business College in Iowa City in 1936. She was married to Ralph C. Cozine at the First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City on April 28, 1937. To them were born three sons, Richard A., Roger W. and Robert S. her husband Ralph died October 19, 1979. On May 15, 1989, she was married to Joseph E. Donohue of Coralville. Lorena and Joe were a dating couple in high school and after several years their romance cooled, lives went separate ways only to come together again after their first spouses had died. Joe Donohue died Dec 10, 1998. Survivors include her three sons, Richard and his wife, Charlotte, of North Liberty, Roger and his wife, Mary Ann, of Iowa City and Robert and his wife, Theresa of rural Iowa City, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. her parents and a brother, A. Wayne Rogers, preceeded her in death. Lorena deeded her body to the University of Iowa Anatomy Department. There will be a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2002, at the First Presbyterian Church in Iowa City. The family requests no flowers, but memorial Gifts may be given to the Iowa City Hospice of the First Presbyterian Church of Iowa City.

Ruby Romelle Cozine, 87, formerly of Iowa City, died at Manor Care Nursing Home in Tucson, Ariz., on April 18, 2007. An informal reception will be held at Lensing's Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville, on Saturday, June 16, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m., with a brief "remembrance time" at 3 p.m.
Ruby was born Aug. 7, 1919, in Columbus Junction, Iowa, the oldest daughter of Herman and Clara Lake Zimmerman. Ruby graduated from Solon High School in 1935 and was valedictorian of her class, and married William "Bill" Cozine in 1937 at "Old Brick" Presbyterian Church, Iowa City. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm located seven miles east of Iowa City, where they had a family of five children. In 1962, they moved to Mayfield Road in Iowa City, where Ruby eventually worked for Halls Gift Shop, Cards Etc, and The First National Bank, where she retired in 1981.
Ruby was a woman of many talents. She took county Extension classes and taught herself to sew, cook, garden, can foods, cane chairs, work with stained glass, knit, crochet, refinish furniture and repair almost anything. She was one of the founding members of the West Branch chapter of TTT, was active in the Presbyterian Church, belonged to the PTA of West Branch and the TPM Club which was philanthropic in nature. She enjoyed the Farm Bureau Women's Club and worked at the polls in Iowa City for each election.
Ruby loved her family, friends, neighbors, and children and lived to serve others.
Survivors include a son, Bill Jr. and wife Jeanne of Tucson, Ariz., three daughters, Sue Thomas and husband Don of Arvada, Colo., Barbara Bezoni and husband Buzz of Mount Pleasant and Patricia Hollrock and husband Rick of South Deerfield, Mass; a sister, Charlene Clements of Placentia, Calif.; and a brother, Bill Zimmerman of Louisville, Ky. She had 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; her son, David of Iowa City; her sister, Patricia Lamar, (husband John and four children) of Des Moines; and her brother, Bud Zimmerman of Oxford.
All donations will go to the Alzheimer's Research Association.

Lawrence (Larry) Addison Cozine was born on December 29, 1928 in Reeder, ND to parents Ralph H. and Marietta (Coffield) Cozine. He attended school in Wasta, Quinn and Elm Springs. He graduated in 1947 from Rapid City High School and became an electrical contractor. He attended Dakota Weslyan University in Mitchell and Black Hills Teacher's College. He purchased Spearfish Electric. He married Jean Gilfillan on August 5, 1950 at Rapid City, SD. He served two years in the United States Marine Corps serving in the 3rd marine Division during the Korean Conflict, and in the South Dakota National Guard for six years. In 1953 he started Cozine Electric. He returned to Southern State College in Springfield graduating in 1957. He worked as an Electrification Advisor for Lincoln Union Electric at Alcester, SD, and also an engineer for Northwestern Public Service at Huron, SD. He taught school in Lynch, NE for three years, and in Chamberlain for nine years. He taught science, Industrial Arts, coordinating adult education classes and DECA classes. He constructed a house for his mother after the 1972 Rapid City flood. He was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation's in Huron, Corps of Engineers at Big Bend and as a Contracting Officer which mediated between government and private contractors at Rapid City, Cheyenne, WY and Denver, CO before retiring in 1993. In 1989, he mediated between the government and private contractors in the wake of Hurricane Hugo. He was job foreman of electrical when the new high school was built in Chamberlain. he taught wiring and plumbing to the Industrial Arts students while they were building the spec house at the high school. His final job was helping to wire the S.D. Hall of Fame building in Chamberlain. He was a member of the United Church of Christ serving as usher and deacon. He was an active member of the Lion's Club and had served as the president and Lion's National youth Camp Counselor. He was an active member of the American Legion Potter Post No. 3, currently serving as treasurer. He had been involved in the Boy Scouts of American for nearly 50 years. He served on the Sioux Council and Black Hills Council, and also as the Wood Badge Instructor. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. He had been a camp director for the Mount Rushmore Pilgrimage more than 13 times. He always had a love for teaching people who wanted to learn. Lawrence passed away on November 19, 1999 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 70 years 10 months and 22 days. He is survived by his wife, Jean Cozine of Chamberlain; two sons, Bruce and wife Cleone, and Paul Cozine both of Chamberlain; one daughter, Laural Miller and husband Steve of Goodview, MN; two sisters, Lavinia Yargus and husband Wayne of Hill City, and Elma Cozine of Custer, and three grandchildren, Steven Cozine and Katie Cozine both of Chamberlain, and Susan Miller of Goodview, MN. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
