Memorial service for James Ellis Cozine, 85, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Cremation Society of Washington.
Mr. Cozine, who was born in Lind, Wash., died Wednesday.
He graduated from Lind High School and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad for more than 20 years and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
His wife of 30 years, Katherine, preceded him in death.
Mr. Cozine is survived by a sister, Isabelle Eckelberry of Post Falls; and two brothers, Eldon Cozine of Post Falls and Gerald Cozine of Spokane.

Born July 30, 1927 to Viola Mae and George William Cozine in Lind, WA,
passed away Friday the 19th of December after a long illness. After
graduation in 1946m from Lind High School, he joined the U.S. Army. He
later attended Eastern Washington University and Kinman Business School. He
worked several years for Carnation Company, driving trucks to retail outlets
and schools. Took an early retirement because of his disabilities with R.A.
[presumably Rheumatoid Arthritis].He had two children by his first marriage. Eldon remarried in 1962 to
Alice. He welcomed her five children and treated them like his own, He was
a very honorable man to take on a large new family.They went on several vacations and attended many family functions. After
retirement they became "Snow Birds" and traveled to Apache Junction, Arizona
for many years. They finally settled in Post Falls [,ID]. They both worked
in the yard and loved seeing their eight Grandchildren and two Greats. He
is survived by Carol Gillaspy (Gerald) of B'ham, WA [presumably Bellingham],
sons, Greg Hart (Star) of Post Falls, Don Hart residing on the coast, Steven
Hart (Cookie) of Rathdrum, ID, also a niece Janet Jones (Bill) of Post
Falls.Preceded in death by his wife of 45 years in 2007, his parents, three
brothers, Ellis, Floyd, and Gerald, also one sister Isabelle Cozine
