I am researching my mother's maiden name of Curlee. This has been the hardest line for me to research!!!!!! On each census record the place of birth seems to change!!!!!! Let me start with what I do have. Noonan Curlee b abt. 1829 GA or AL d July 1870 Falls Co. Texas listed on Mortality death records as Carlie. Cause of death listed as fever. He 1st married Angelina Hudgens or Hutchins. On his son's death certificate listed as Hudgens but I believe strongly that Newman Curlee married to Angelina Hutchins December 2, 1849 is my Noonan and Angelina. Angelina must have died around 1858 when Calvin was born because on the 1870 Falls Co. Texas Census: 1870 FALLS CO. TEXAS [NAME SPELLED CARLI INSTEAD OF CURLEE] CARLI Henrietta MS Willis 9 TX Mary 7 TX Alia 4 TX Robert 2 TX Henry 18 AL Calvin 12 LA Dixon Robert 23 AR I am assuming that Henrietta was the 2nd wife of Noonan and that her last name is Dixon--I could be wrong. Noonan's son Noon is listed on the Falls Co. TX census as Corley. They had 3 known at this point. Children: Noon Curlee b abt 1850 either AL or GA d 18 Jun 1925 Robertson Co. TX. Married Eugenia Catherine Patterson b 10 Dec 1855 Tallapoosa AL d 14 Aug 1940 Robertson Co TX. They had the following children: Luther b 1875 Robertson Co TX d 8 May 1904 Robertson Co TX Nunan E b 1877 Robertson Co TX d 4 Jan 1953 Robertson Co TX Thomas b 25 Mar 1883 Robertson Co TX d Nov 1971 Bryon b 23 Feb 1884 d 12 Jun 1922 Robertson Co TX Tobe b 1885 Robertson Co TX d 23 Apr 1951 Hardin Co TX (looks like Lobe on the Census) Lottie b 2 Sep 1890 Robertson Co TX d Nov 1973 Brazos TX Herman b 1 Oct 1895 Robertson Co TX d They are listed on the 1920 Robertson Co TX Census with Noon and Eugenia. Noon listed as a blacksmith for occupation. I am making a wild assumption but I do think that Noonan is perhaps William's son. I noticed that Pickney married a Susan Hutchins, could be Angelina's sister. IF and this is a very wild guess--Angelina was Mary Angelina then the Union Curlee may be Noonan. I will have to see what is listed on his son Noon's death certificate. I have not yet found them on the 1860 census. They are either in LA or TX. The LA census is very hard to follow. I did notice that a couple of William's children did end up in Texas. I have not been able to locate any proof of civil war involment as of yet. Henry Wesley Curlee b 31 Jan 1852 Elmore AL d Feb 14 1940 Limestone Co. TX. Married Julia Ann Frazier b 11 Mar 1856 d 14 Oct 1931 Limestone TX and had the following children: Alonza Jefferson b 1874 Limestone d 25 Jul 1937 Limestone (Lan on census) Charles Rufus b 1877 d 20 Mar 1942 Limestone Robert Lee b 17 Feb 1879 d 11 Jul 1969 Mart TX Ralph L b 1880 (may be Robert???) Thomas Oscar b 11 Mar 1882 Limestone d 24 Nov 1900 Limestone Della b 27 Dec 1884 Limestone d Sep 1973 Mart TX Walter Scott b 8 Sep 1887 Limestone d 16 Sep 1976 Ft Worth TX marr Myrtle James Calvin Curlee b 1858 LA d abt 1899 Falls Co TX. Married Ida Jane Durham b May 1870 Falls Co TX. She remarried a Berry and died ? in Temple TX-Bell Co. Children: Emma Ora b Jun 1886 d 1901 burial-Criswell Cem-Falls Co TX Ada b 12 Sep 1887 William Carpenter b Apr 1891 Falls Co TX d 9 Feb 1947 Timothy Calvin b 14 Dec 1892 Mart TX Ida b Mar 1895 Samuel Abner Curlee (my mother's father). Our lines seem to go in the exact same direction - GA-AL-LA-TX. Samuel Abner Curlee b July 3, 1898 d Jan 1971 Salt Lake City, Utah. Samuel's 1st wife was Dovie Robinson. She died 6-21-33 in Wichita Co. TX.
