Will of Meredith Curlee

 WILL OF MEREDITH CURLEE DEC'D
Son of James Curlee

The State of Alabama   { In the name of God
Coosa County           { Amen.  I Meredith
                   Curlee of the State and County
aforesaid being of Sound mind and memory
and considering the uncertainty of this frail
and transitory life, do therefore make ord
ain Publish and declare this to be my
last Will & testament:  That is to say,
First after all my lawfull debts are paid
and discharged the residue of my Estate
I give bequeath and dispose of as follows
To Wit  To my beloved Father James Curlee
Two Hundred Dollars in money, To my
Sister Rebecca Curlee Four Hundred Dollars
in money  To my Sister Amy Curlee Four
Hundred Dollars in money.  All of the County
and State aforesaid.  Likewise I make consti
-tute and appoint my brother William H.
Curlee to be Executor of this my last Will
and testament.  In Witness whereof I
have hereunto Subscribed my name and
affixed my Seal this the 26th day of
February 1862      Meredith Curlee {Seal}
The above written instrument was Subscribed
by the Said Meredith Curlee in our presence
and acknowledged by him to each of us, and
he at the Same time published and declared
the above instrument So Subscribed to be his
last Will & Testament, and we at the
Testators request and in his presence have
Signed our names as witnesses hereto

The State of Alabama { I W.H. Moore an acting
Coosa County         { Justice of the Peace hereby
Certify that Meredith Curlee whose name
is Signed to the foregoing Will and
who is known to me acknowledged before me
on this day that being informed of the Contents
of the Will that he Executed the Same Voluntarily
on the day the Same bears date Given under
my hand and this 26th day of Febry, 1862.

The State of Alabama { Probate Court of Said
Coosa County         { County July 15th 1862
		In the matter of the Probate of the
last Will & Testament of Meredith Curlee Dec'd
Before me A.A. McMillan Judge of the Said
Court personally appeared Thomas J. Holiman
having been first duly Sworn and Examined did
and do depose and Say on oath that he is a
Subscribing witness to the instrument of writing
now Shown him and which purports to be
the last Will & Testament of Meredith Curlee
deceased late an inhabitant of this County
that said Meredith Curlee Signed and Executed
Said instrument on the day the Same bears
date and declared the Same to be his last Will
& testament and that affiant Set his Sign
thereto on the day the Same bears date as a Sub
Scribing witness to the Same in the presence of
Said Testator, that Said Testator was of Same
mind and disposing memory and in the
opinion of deporent? fully capable of making
his Will at the time the Same was So made
as aforesaid Affiant further States that
Said Testator was on the day of Said Will
of the full age of twenty one years and upward

of July A.D. 1862       {
	Duly proven as the last Will &
Testament of Meredith Curlee Deceased
as Such admitted to Probate and ordered
to be Recorded July 15th 1862
