TALITHA'S FAMILY HISTORY
The John and Winnie Ann Lynch Sammons family migrated from Putnam County, Georgia about 1848 to the area of Mer Rouge, and Gallion, Louisiana in Morehouse Parish. They moved to Dry Bayou, Arkansas-Ashley County in the spring, shortly after Talitha and Steve's marriage of 18 Jan 1872.
Talitha's mother "Mrs. Sammons," her name being Winnie Ann, stated about 1871, when she was approximately age 46, that her doctor said she would be dying shortly. She ended up living a long life of over 90 years.
Talitha and Steve Davis had five children, each dying in infancy or young childhood. She and Robert 'Bob Radford had four children, all reaching adulthood, one being the writer of this book, Ethel Radford Machen Chavis. I found when I visited Hamburg, AR-Ashley County, that Bob Radford had also been the County Clerk for Ashley County.
Talitha herself lived a long and full live, as her mother, reaching the age of over 90 years old.
