2. Floyd (Jesse) RUSH Jr.
(2) was born on 26 Oct 1919 in Franklin
Twp., Greene, Pa.. He died on 6 Sep 1982 in Waynesburg, Wayne Twp., Greene,
Pa.. He was buried on 9 Sep 1982 in Pursley Cem., Franklin Twp., Greene, Pa..
born in house on north side of Brant Hill on Rte. 218. Grew up in house near
Spraggs, Pa. (now torn down). Always told story of how he shot a bullet into
the wall of that house. I saw that bullet before they tore down the house.
Though he was named Floyd Jr., he did not have David for his middle name, except
in the Army, which insisted that since he was the Jr. of Floyd David, then he
must be Floyd David, too.
In the 1920 census, Floyd and Vada have children Katherine Clara, Anice, and
Jesse (!). Jesse is the right age, so apparently, Floyd Jr.'s name started out
as Jesse. Could that be why he has no official middle name? Perhaps he was
Jesse Floyd and they dropped the Jesse.
In the 1930 census, Katherine is gone, Anice gone?, Floyd is listed as Floyd
J. They live next to Vada's sister Anna and her husband, Otho, and next to Jesse
M., Floyd Sr.'s father.
