Like many of you, I love to look at old family photographs and wonder about the lives of these "unknown" people who are related to me. I knew they were family but didn't know much about them or how they were connected. My mother, who was most interested in the Crowell line, had done some research years ago. One of the goals she had was to find out when our Crowell family emigrated and from where. We had been told that my great-grandfather came from England, but after some research, I found that he was born in the United States as was his father and his grandfather.
