PASSENGER LIST - PARTIAL
This is the report prepared by the Department of Immigration 2 days after the Slains Castle arrived in Port Phillip, at which time only 104 persons were on board.

From the REPORT, dated 1 February 1851, upon the Ship "SLAINS CASTLE" by the Board of Immigration, Melbourne (Box 211 File 51/55)
"Thirty-eight Families were embarked numbering 154 souls, Single male adults 36, Single female Adults 44, making a total of 234 souls.
When the Board arrived on board the "Slains Castle" to inspect the passengers, it was found that very many of the people had been allowed to go on shore, and that there remained on board 19 Families consisting 66 souls, Single Men 16, and Single Women 22, in all 104 souls."
THIS is the Nominal List of the 104 souls who were found on board on 27th. January, 1851, the date of the Board's inspection --not including, of course, the balance of 130 souls who had disembarked previously. The ship sailed from Gravesend on 1st. October 1850. One Single Adult Female, "Elizabeth BISHOPP" died during the voyage"
