1st That PRIVATE JOHN GIBSON born in the Parish of  YOUGHALL in or near the Town of CORK in the County of  CORK was enlisted for the aforesaid Regiment at  QUEBEC   in the PROVINCE L. CANADA on the 25th Day of MAY 1807  at the age of TWENTY SIX for UNLIMITED SERVICE.

2nd That he hath served in the Army for the space of   NINETEEN Years and THREE HUNDRED FORTY SIX Days,   after   the Age of Eighteen, according to the subjoined   STATEMENT OF SERVICE

49th Reg. 12 Oct 1790 to 24 May 07/ Private 16 Yrs.   285 Days/ Prior to age of 18 to be deducted 8 Yrs.  0 Days/ Total Service 8 Yrs. 285 Days/ 0 Yrs. in   East   or West Indies.

99th Reg. 25 May 07 to 24 July 18/ Serjeant 5 Yrs.   0 Days/ Private 6 Yrs. 61 Days/ Total Service 11   Yrs.   61 Days/ 0 Yrs. in East or West Indies

Totals 5 Yrs. Serjeant/ 22 Yrs. 346 Days Private/ 8   Yrs. prior to age 18/ Total Service 19 Yrs. 346 Days

3rd That in consequence of THE REDUCTION OF THE REGIMENT he is hereby discharged AND IN CONSEQUENCE OF HIS SERVICE IS HEREBY RECOMMENDED.

7th I JOHN GIBSON do hereby acknowledge that I have received all my Clothing, Pay, Arrears of Pay, and all just Demands whatsoever, from the time of my Entry   into the Service to the date of this Discharge. WITH AN ADVANCE OF FULL PAY TO 24 SEPTEMBER 1818.   Witnessed by GEORGE PINCKNEY CAPT. 99th

 8th To prevent any improper use being made of this discharge, by its falling into other Hands, the following is a Description of the said PRIVATE JOHN GIBSON. He is about THIRTY SEVEN Years of Age, is FIVE Feet FIVE Inches in height, BROWN Hair, BROWN Eyes, FRESH (I think) Complexion; and by Trade or   Occupation a MUSICIAN.
