I have traced my Rich line back to John Horace Rich who married Elizabeth Davis.  John was born in 1772 in North Carolina and died in 1817 in Adams Co., Ohio.  In 1800 the John and Elizabeth are reflected on census for Salisbury, Rowan Co., North Carolina.  In 1804, John and Elizabeth  moved from North Carolina to Adams Co., Ohio between  and bought 700 acres.  After John's death, in 1824, Elizabeth and the children moved to Rush Co., Indiana where she died in 1855. 

Davis Rich was born to John and Elizabeth Rich in 1811 in Ohio and he married Margaret Kolb in 1829.  Davis and Margaret raised their family in Indiana.  Their children were all born near Raleigh, Rush Co., Indiana.  The home below is the old Davis Rich home near Raleigh.

Josephus RICH was born to Davis and Margaret Rich in 1848 in Indiana and he married Sarah Ellen Henry who was also know as Ella.  In 1880 Josephus and Sarah were living in the Taylor Township of Howard Co., IN.  In 1883 Josephus moved the family to Kansas.  Then moved the family to Laclede Co., MO in 1893.  According to their son Alfred's orbit, Sarah was a descendant of Patrick Henry, however, I have not been able to prove that fact and think this is not likely true.

Lewis Elwood RICH was born to Josephus and Sarah Rich in 1872 in Indiana and he married Margaret Elizabeth Barnes.  They lived in the Union Township of Laclede Co., MO.  On 1/9/1907, Lewis sold all of his personal belongings and the family moved to Pueblo, Colorado for a few years.  By 1911 they moved back to MO and lived in Phillipsburg, Laclede Co., MO where they lived the rest of their lives. Nora Mary Rich was born to Lewis and Margaret Rich in 1914 in Phillipsburg, MO and she married Truman Chambers.  They married in Los Angeles Co., CA in 1931.  They lived first in the city of Maywood, then moved to Bell and latter moved to Downey.  Truman and Nora moved to Phelan, California after Truman retired.  Then in 1979 they moved to Parker, AZ where they lived the rest of their lives.  Truman and Nora Chambers were my grandparents.
