Eliphalet Barkalow Stillwell was born at Stillwell's Corner, December 2, 1883, the son of James Henry Stillwell and Rebecca Barkalow. He later entered Philadelphia Dental College and graduated with a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1908. He praticed in Lakewood for one year prior to opening his office in Spring Lake on 3rd Ave where he maintained his practice until 1963, the year he died. Dr. Stillwell married Hazel Appelget in Lakewood on April 27, 1910. In 1912 they purchased their residence at 200 Washington Ave., Spring Lake, NJ, which was to be the Stillwell family home for almost 75 years.
