The History Of The Boon(e) Family
The Boon family research has been a slow process that has produced
Information on ten generations from abt. 1730 to the present year
2018. There has always been rumor that we were related to DANIEL
BOONE. I have been unable to find any links so far.
Springfield, North Carolina and had thirteen children. One
( child #4) was John Boon. He was born abt.1767 in Springfield,
NC and died in 1831. He married twice. His first wife was
Sally Wilkins, daughter of James and Phency Wilkins. His second
wife was Dorcas Chesnutt,married 24th November 1795 in Sampson
County,NC. She was the daughter of Charles Chesnutt and Julia
Driver. They had nine children.One(child#3)was John Boon. He
was born abt 1796. He married Rachel Porter on the 15th April 1831
in Duplin County, NC. They had eight children.One(child#3)was
Stephen Boon. He was born on the 14th of March 1833 in Sampson
County,NC and died 2nd January 1912. He is buried at Wells Chapel
Cemetery, Harrells,Sampson County,North Carolina. He married Sarah
C Howard on the 13th of December 1866.
Stephen was a coporal in Company A,Regiment 30th Infantry,North
Carolina in the Confederate Army from 14th April 1862 till 29th May
1865. He was wounded and captured 1 July 1862 at Malvern Hill,
Virginia and released on exchange 16th July 1862 at Aikens
Landing,Va. He was captured again 12 May 1864 at Spotsylvania
Court House,Va., confined at Point Lookout, Md. and Elmira, NY.
Released the 29th of May 1865.
He was born 23rd December 1873 in North Carolina and died the
2nd of October 1928 in Sumter, South Carolina. He married Mary
Jane McLeod in 1895. They had three children. One (child#1)
was Mildred Jane Boone. She was born the 5th of September 1896
in Wallace,Duplin County,NC and died the 7th of March 1947.
She married John Linwood Evans (his second marriage) on the
29th of January 1921 in Sumter, SC. Her nickname was "Nan"
and she enjoyed painting.

without the help of my mother Mary Alice Evans Cummings, notes from
Grandmother Mildred Jane Boone Evans, My aunt Lolly Evans Thorne,
and research on the internet,that has brought to me help from so many
other genealogist researching the Boon(e) name. Also info from the
North Carolina State Archives,Federal Census Reports , The Sumter
County Probate Office, The Sumter Genealogical Society,and also from
finding relatives on the internet. A special thanks to Dawn Boone Emery
who through her family connection provided info on Thomas Martin
Boone's siblings.
The latest info found is that one of Stephen Boon's brother
( John Henry)married Susan Emeline Parker. Her uncle Zachariah
Parker married a Kathleen Vann and her brother , Enoch's daughter
( Margaret) married Samuel Boone. His father was Benjamine Boone.
His father was John Boone and his father was Benjamin Boone( Brother
of Squire Boone ) . Squire Boone was Daniel Boone's father. Their
father was George Boone III ,son of George Boone II and grandson
of George Boone born 1615 , England.
